We all know how much everyone "loves" the ZD staff, some of us do from first hand experience.

Well it doesn't really make sense in this case, at this point it's kind of moot because either the name ZD already leaves a bad taste in someone's mouth, or they don't really care enough (they just play Zandronum and don't really pay attention to the forums, etc.), at least that would be their target audience.

The fact that NOW it redirects to Zandronum.com is interesting to say the least. It could mean a whole lot of things, but I recommend that you still do not use Zandronum.info/org because it could be a potential set-up that someone thought of to attempt to, in the future, set up a look-alike site that mirrors Zandronum.com and leaches forum passwords.
At this point I think they changed the redirect to avoid being domain-registry slapped for registering a domain with intent to intentionally mis-direct.

Sorry, I did kind of sound like I dick but I wrote that waiting for my 8am class to start rofl.

Thadeuss wrote: Hi everyone. Some of you might know me, most probably don't, but my name is Thad and I'm a moderator on the Zdaemon forums as well as a contributor to our news and website blogs.

You might not consider me 'staff' as I don't have a hand in development, but I just read about this on alt death and felt that this really should be nipped in the bud before it gets out of hand.

Whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves, it's a very underhanded tactic but in no way do I believe that any ZD staff member has anything to do with this. I think most probably someone has done this because either they are:

1) A ZD fan boy who thinks that all other ports suck no matter what evidence you provide to the contrary. I love ZD, but being a fanboy of anything is just close minded.

2) Someone wants to antagonise and create drama between both ports because they have some sort of beef with ZD staff (pretty likely imo).

3) Someone is doing it for the lulz.

I think there is more than enough room for ZD, Zandronum, and Odamex to operate and there's no need for there to be any animosity between the ports.

I personally think that Zandronum is a fantastic port and that all involved have done a sensational job. ZDaemon and Zandronum just have different goals from one another, interpreting DOOM in different ways. As far as I'm concerned the more popular Zandronum is, the more players there will be in the DOOM community which means we will all benefit from it.

I hope this doesn't descend into a slagging match between player bases or staff. It was a shit thing to do and I hope whoever did it gets caught.

Keep up the great work guys, and I look forward to playing some games with you all.
Hey Thad, thanks for taking the time to post out your thoughts, it's much appreciated.

The staff here do NOT personally think the ZDaemon staff has anything to do with this. Since the links are redirected back to Zandronum, it's just somebody trying to start crap.

I personally have no beef with ZD staff. And still don't over all this. It's a couple of silly links that someone with too much time on their hands spent money on to try and create more tension between the two ports.

They link back to this site now. so I dunno.

Cute, they're now on odamex. Seems like just some basic redirections currently, they must be real bored.

Maybe this was the plan of odamex all along. :P
About that, oda has leached Zdeamon.net for a while now and nobody blames them for being low bastards. Double standards.

Why someone would waste their own time and money pulling this off is beyond thinkable means.
