[ALPHA] Shotgun Frenzy Plus! (Ver.1.7) A Tribute for the chaos!

Hey there Forum, Samu's here to show up something I've been working on since last year!

Shotgun Frenzy Plus
A fork from Shotgun Frenzy (a Doom 2 mod) which adds more stuff for Zandronum.

What is this?
This is a fork from Shotgun Frenzy.

How did you get in here Samu?
Yet the development was'nt stopped at all, Greg339 (I think...) and T3h Player decided to launch a set of unoffical patches which it introduced some more fixes to the mod. Like the reducction of lag, balances on demons, cheaper prices, etc...

One day, when we're playing the mod, Zanieon was pissed with some Cyber-Barons (a strong enemy on the mod) for the excess of damage output dealt against players, so he did some other balances more. And i've followed him, just to support the changes.

And now the latest update for the patch was the unofficial v8f, it was intended to develop another patch, but for the unstability of the code, I've decided to make an entire fork to fix the problem from the roots.
Initial Setup

To run this you need:
  • Zandronum 3.1 Alpha OR Zandronum 3.0
  • A copy of Doom 2 or Freedoom 2.
  • The Skulltag Content wad.
Loading order should be:
  • sfplus_core_xxx.pk3
  • sfplus_res_xxx.pk3
  • sfplus_mus_xxx.pk3
  • skulltag-content3.0-beta.pk3

No seriously, read this for the love of hell.
  • I'm NOT, the owner of Shotgun Frenzy, that credit goes to Wad'a'Holic.
  • I have no Permission to edit Shotgun Frenzy directly, yet taking the
    same action as T3h Player, I made this, as a paralel version for the same mod.
  • This mod uses as base the latest relase of Shotun Frenzy. Version: 14.
  • This mod is based on the series of patchs made by t3h player. So thank him also for making this mod a reality.
  • This is NOT an offical relase for Shotgun Frenzy.
  • YES. This thing uses a lot of stuff taken from Realm667, You got a problem with that? I mean, I know you'd hate to see the same resources seen in each mod of doom, but for me, in this mod, they're the spot-light to this wonderful tribute of Shotgun Frenzy. Also, I'm lazy to do each weapon from scratch.
  • You're allowed to make mods based on this. Just don't modify this and do a different patch.
  • You're allowed to take code from here, with one condition: Say thanks to Shotgun Frenzy, SF Plus, and to the other sources where they might been taken.
  • You're allowed to take some of the media contained in sfplus_res_v.x files, with one condition: Say thanks to Shotgun Frenzy, SF Plus, and to the other sources where they might been taken.
  • ACS-Utils, ACS-Rects and the Samu-Terminal are used in this mod. All of them free to use for everyone. (The credits are not needed, but i'll give you an arepa if you do it anyway :3)
  • You're allowed to spread this to the world. With no profitable pruposes. (Come on, all of the wads out there are free to make for everyone, why you would do that? If you need money so badly, then get a job. Hippe.)
  • Last, but not least, if you found bugs, go to the zandronum forum and to Samu's Chambers. (A discord server where i update this thing and other doomy stuffs.)

This relase should run now in the zandronum's 3.0 Stable. So you won't be forced to download the alpha build.

This looks freakin' awesome from the screenshots (and GIFs) alone. I really like the menu and the HUD, you did a spectacular job with the presentation there! I hope to try this in LAN soon-ish.

This only quick-fixes the death, xdeath and raise states from the monsters to actually see them in multiplayer rather than disappearing.
This relase can be mixed up with the past resource part of this relase (version 0, test#7).

Fixes a strange bug of disapperance of weapons, and improves some good-old weapons!

Also, Thank you too Zanieon, It's a pleasure to replay and remake this mod, let's hope the people plays this more often.

Shotgun Frenzy Plus (Version 0, Test# 12) it was already prepared to go since the last year! lol, forgot to update this.

This version features 2 new thingies that will literally change the playstyle.
-) Kill Streaks rewarding system (Gain U.Ps by killing monsters without dying)
-) Player Upgrades (Buffs your current body and grants you other bonuses by using U.Ps. Get to the Health Terminal to check that out)

And with it, some more improvements, like the air-strike planning attacks, a new turret and much much more!

But since that's 2020-ish new, have another relase that fixes the last one (Version 0, Test #13)

Airstrikes has been in the mod since Wad'A'Holic era, it's just a row of markers that later causes the trail of explosions, so it's actually more like a Carpet Bombing :v:

Shop menu was a little uncomfortable for a first time, cause I played SF a lot of times earlier, but now I can say, that this mod really improves SF. I should play it more... thoroughly?, but first experience was really good.

Good to see someone else has been working on it! I think Shotgun Frenzy is probably one of my favorite mods of anything ever, and that's why I took a stab at fixing it up way back when. It was always fun, but the last official release from Wad-o-Holicit had some major balance issues and some bugs that trolls loved to exploit (overpowered weapons, doors and elevators that could be body blocked, etc.)

But then, I got distracted with 500 other things, and I haven't really looked at it in ages. I recall that someone (maybe OP?) reached out to me at my Doom email address maybe a year ago or so with some variety of feedback, but the details are foggy at this point. I was too busy to get to it at the time, and I managed to forget about it by the time I had time once again. And it looks like the mail provider has deleted the old mail. Sigh. Anyway, whoever that was, my apologies. It's rare that people are kind enough to send feedback, but I never got to it. Damnit.

Shotgun Frenzy Plus (Version 1) is out! Finally!

There is a lot of changes made in this version, and here are some hi-lights.

-) Rune shop! Buy some runes for yourself!
-) Stimpack upgrades! Spend some money in the health terminal to upgrade your own stimpacks.
-) The Patcher! a tool that let's you upgrade the turrets!
-) Now the game autosaves your progress each 10 seconds in the game!
-) Added an new powerup, Hell-trigger!, Allows you to fire fast, and with infinite ammo for a short time!
-) The Patcher Gun!, now fix and upgrade your turrets by using your credits! It gives you experience upon use!
-) New Core pulses, Warcry and Smite, revamped heal pulse and rename the other pusle to Revive.
-) New techs to be researched!
-) Speaking of upgraded turrets, now each turret and dispenser (except the base turret) can be upgraded up to Level 5.
-) But beware! Turrets and Dispensers can attract monsters!
-) Champions (coloured assholes with skills, but drops unique things upon death)! (again, thanks Mikk & TDDR!)
-) A Timer/Enemy Counter! Just to let you know how much time is left before hitting the end!
-) Now Health and Armor Bonuses can be drop in a splashy way upon any kill! Like credits!
-) Some other changes in the weapons that i'm too lazy to mention!
-) And more!

Most of the bugs are fixed now in the v1.1 version so, there you go.

Shotgun Frenzy Plus (Version 1.3) is out! with some balances and fixes related to the monster spawning with many players in game.
That, and now the runes dropped by champions will not be picked up when you bump into them, Press "use" to link the rune with you!
