I'm going to have a new version of the Doom soundtrack out maybe by tonight. If not tonight, then tomorrow for sure. For now, here's the new E1M1 song that will be in it: http://www.mediafire.com/?13821e7xt2ddgsv

Version 4 of the Ultimate Doom soundtrack is now released. New things include enhanced audio quality, lots of new samples, and the songs will now loop better thanks to some editing through GoldWave. Also, there is now an MP3 version available along with the OGG version. Links in the first post have been updated.

Uploaded a fixed version of the Ultimate Doom WAD since I messed up on the intermission and E2M3 music again somehow. I am currently working on Hexen's music. Doom II, Final Doom TNT: Evilution, Heretic, and Strife will come eventually.

It's working fine for me in Zandronum 1.0. Are you using Zandronum or a different source port?

Just a heads up: Hexen's "Hall" and Heretic's "E1M2" each have an instance where a note starts before an instrument change event, resulting in a single piano note where strings should be. For best results this should be fixed prior to render.

There may be others but those are the only ones I know of.

It's nothing to worry about.

Hexen Hall: http://www.mediafire.com/?sjnc3be5ux7ljx6

Everything sounds just fine.

Okay, great. :P

(Also oops, I meant "Orb", not "Hall".)

The only other issue I've found: Sometimes volume controllers are used to fade out a note, but volume is restored to max for the next note before reverb is finished. The result is the sudden hit of the last note finishing. (Similar problem with MUS_E1M6's Choir track and pan control.)

Haven't gotten far yet, but I hope to put together a fixpack for the MIDI music, to fix problems like these.

Good luck with the remasters. :)

I've been messing with Duke Nukem 3D's music so it could be something for me to finish working on eventually, but here's the two songs I worked on for now:

The City Streets (E1L3): http://www.mediafire.com/?9508sg117d0xso3

Water World (E1L4): http://www.mediafire.com/?8sesbbd31o518gt

I put Hexen's music on hold and worked on Heretic's music instead since it needed the update more. Yes, Heretic Soundtrack v2 is now released. There are two different versions: one that is just like the original and one that replaces the synth strings with real string samples. The audio quality has been enhanced, there are many new samples, and the music has been edited in GoldWave to make it loop better. Both versions of the soundtrack are available in MP3 and OGG format. Links in the first post have been updated.

Feedback!

E1M2, E1M3: Beautiful.

E1M6: Seems to have missed the volume controllers on the choir track (4). Maybe the strings, I can't really tell.

E2M8: I seem to detect a pan effect on the bell. That is cool.

E2M9: The Bowed Glass instrument is badly off key for some reason.

E3M2: Holy bacon, yes.

Overall: Not especially fond of the Distortion Guitar though. Too much high-frequency, like it's been filtered poorly. :/

Choir is superb though. :)

Sorry me, if I'm too crude, but quality of your remakes are lower than mediocre. Clipping, overdrive, bad composition of instruments, guitar has nothing with real guitar sound and other problems. Was checking d_in_cit.ogg and d_runnin.ogg

Now for a Halloween special! Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/?xlb18xgaz07p3na (Note: the song may not stay this way in the completed soundtrack)

I looked into this by comparing with the original MIDI and it's really not off key at all.

Sounds a few notes lower in Weeds GM3, SilverSpring, OPL3 FM, and Yamaha SYXG50 SoftSynth.

Bell just needs to drop a few notes in the render. (Although I do like the more crystal-like sound.) *Shrug*

I'm turning into a nagging spouse ain't I? :v

These are all very awesome. I wish you had designed the Hexen remastered tracks around the N64 soundtrack, though... That version is so much better than the PC soundtrack IMO. Fits the game much better. I like your remastered version of it, though! x3

Yeah the N64 version of the game has some nice music, but all my work here is based on the PC versions of the games. I'm working on a new version of Hexen's soundtrack so be sure to watch out for it.
