[WIP] Canion 3D (Zandro/GZDoom Mod)

Canion 3D is a mod for GZDoom / Zandronum 2.0 or higher. Contains over 80 new monsters from two different styles:
Medieval/Magic and Tecnological/Futuristic.
There are four classes: DOOM that we all know and love, Quake 1, Quake2, and Hovertank 3D (a mix between
Descent by Parallax Software, and Hovertank 3d by id Software).
It can be played as a randomizer with your favorite wad (as long as it doesn't replace classes or monsters), or in
campain mode on it's "Canion3D" episode, some maps are still in beta stage.
This mod works online in any game mode of Zandronum. In Gzdoom it wasn't tested on multiplayer.

HOW TO PLAY
extract the zip in zandronum or GZDoom folder and execute Canion3D.bat file.
wad order to start manually or multiplayer game

Aztec warrior, can jump and dodge projectiles rolling to the sides

Smart robot with different kind of lasers and a bomb on it's interior. Look out if it jumps on your direction.

A barbarian! (will chase you with its axe, heal himself, and some times use a grenade launcher)

Commander robots that can build otehr machines using the "Nanolathe" technology.
The skies are infected with dragons! look out with their meteors!!

Soldiers that went mad after war with Stroggs! Now they attack anyone.

Grim, comes to take the souls of the combatants on the lands of canion!

Mutant alien, it can morph its enemies in other mutants!
Spoiler: BUGS (Open)is your head is flying and cross the horizontal line and if you don't respawn immediately the game crash!
the vulgar walks on the sky. Some day I'll fix it, for the moment looks fun :rock:

Pretty cool.
Hey, where did you get the Descent md3 models? IIRC trying to export models with the descent 1/2 modding tools is like pulling teeth.

hehe no i dont include the Greece map but you can always play some invasion maps from other wads like delta/alpha invasion they are very hard with canion monsters

Mod imaginative and original, melee monters are great and the canions.. LOL!
is better than mods that have golden monters and kill with 1 hit...
The only problem is not working on linux :(

I love this mod. Few mods have this replay value, basically every megawad is good for Canion.
Here is an idea for a new monster
L'Chupapi Jas: Vicious melee monster that can replicate the players that kill.

Thanks, I stole it with style, unlike the rips that are in every wad and you didn't find worth to notice. Everyone can steal from Hexen, but few steal from a Quake mod. Saludos, Vegeta.

Exactly how did you steal it with style? Where's the style element? Or what is the style? The black background? Nice style 10/10. Or is that the god-awful name you put it, instead of the perfect name that actually comes from the Lovecraftian universe? (Drole) Nice style, if so. (sarcasm)
Do you know why few steal from games with models? Because they look dumb and out of place in Doom, that's why. And those few who manage to make them look good actually overhaul the game completely so they look nice, which is not the case here :)

Yeah why would you rename the Drole anyways, especially since none of the other monsters in this mod got renamed AFAIK lol?
And yeah I agree that mods that use models for anything other than map decoration or special cases (like AOW2 mechs because gigantic sprites for very large objects are the worst) should be "everything or nothing". A lot of players probably don't notice or care, but it's a bit of a depth clash when you play with a 50/50 mix of sprites and models for weapons and monsters.
I realize asking a modder to make models for every game actor is asking a lot of work, but then again if the whole point of this mod is to be a model ripfest/mashup anyways then I don't see why you can't use DarkSlayer's or StikerMan's models or something (with permission) to at least fill the gaps when it comes to weapons.

You obviously didn't try Canion, everything in Canion are 3d models (from monsters to hud weapons), the only sprites there are for special effects. Maps are it's biggest flaw, it certainly needs new good maps (yet it has some gems). In any case its a lot of fun to play it in coop megawads. It also has a great dm/lms, and the decorate is around the best I have seen, 7x1 compared with anything from realm667 or complex doom. Only multiparts monsters like harbinger or these of CIF3 are more complex, yet canion's creature aren't that far. I hope ZombieMad soon makes a test map so people can try all the monsters.

EDIT:
I Always thinked that not everyone didn't rip 3d models because it's not that easy to rip it copared to a Sprite where it's just a copy and paste game...

MD3's and MD2's are literally just as easy to rip as sprites. Copy model, copy its skin, copy definitions over from Quake (or rewrite it in 5 seconds). Done.
