Doom music covered in the 8-bit 2A03/NES sound format

Hey kids!
Over the past few years I've slowly started remaking Doom songs as if they were from an NES game for kicks. So far I only have a handful of songs, but I figure why not release what I've got so far to gather feedback, gauge interest, and to add another niche resource in this forum for whomever may want this sort of thing. So without further adieu...
Doom:
E1M8 - Sign of Evil
mp3 nsf
E3M3 - Deep Into the Code
mp3 nsf
Doom 2 (let's pretend this was released on the FDS):
Map01 - Running from Evil
mp3 nsf
And that's about it for now. Hopefully this topic will motivate me to keep going forward with this. Until then, Enjoy!

Would fit great with the 8-bit marine skin.

Reminds me of ZX spectrum music. This kicks ass!

Really Great! Please make more in this format! I am using an 8-bit music wad myself and it's a lot of fun.
Would you also be able to remake all the PSX Doom Music into 8-bit nes or 16-bit SNES formats as well? That would be near perfect to play with at the same time.

Oh awesome! Glad you guys are enjoying them. I'm currently working on E1M1 and D_Messag so hopefully I'll have those tracks done in the next few days.

That's a pretty hefty request. The thing is the psx music is mostly ambient stuff that might be hard to replicate on the NES without going too crazy with the channels (and my patience). I admittedly have my hands full with the current soundtracks, but I'll see what I can do after I'm done with these. No promises though.
As far as the SNES goes, it's all based on
filters that are crafted from the sound drivers which are written on a per game basis. The rest of the SNES sound comes from samples provided by the composers/company, but trust me when I say it's all in the sound driver and how it handles said samples with the hardware. Sure I could limit myself to the
Korg M1 to get that Capcom SNES era sound, but I definitely don't the means to make it authentic like the NES stuff.

I thought about and you are right about the SNES sounds. It is mostly samples based, so would defeat the purpose of the 8-bit chip sound generated effects. We can always load up a soundfont for that type of effect but 8-bit is way harder due to lack of full GM/GS sound fonts.
For the PSX doom sounds, I did find the midis and sound font for it:

I think with an 8bit synth re-code, with proper reverb would still sound creepy but with that special 8bit flavor.
Although a Capcom CPS2 version would be freaking incredible but not 8bit. :D

Neat stuff, the fact there are nsf files is even better.
It slightly bothers me some notes' duration not being accurate to the original MIDI in D_E1M8, though.
