[BETA] H.A.A.R.P. CTF by jac0b

H.A.A.R.P. CTF is my first attempt at a capture the flag map for DOOM.

H.A.A.R.P. stands for “High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program.” H.A.A.R.P. is a controversial ionospheric research program which has heavy military attention and interest from nations around the globe.

Officially, the project is a scientific research project involving the interaction with and study of our earth's ionosphere via advanced and expensive energy transmission technology (~$300M per installation.) America has constructed 3 installations within past recent years.

Unofficially, the project may be a sort of secret military weapon, utilized for various ends including weather modification, weather warfare, communications modification, and even mind control! H.A.A.R.P. has been faulted for causing earthquakes, droughts, floods, and more.

THE CTF MAP:

H.A.A.R.P. CTF is built from the original E1M1 of DOOM. Each base is constructed from the building in which you first spawned in E1M1. Your flag is located at the top of the stairs where a green armor once lived.

There are 3 primary routes into and out of each base. Each has its positive and negative aspects. You can run bravely up the middle and try your luck grabbing BFG atop the H.A.A.R.P. array, infiltrate the base wing via bridge or water, or grab a rad suit and sneak through the tunnels.

A variety of weapons are available including the BFG and rail gun. A BFG grab involves greater effort than in most CTF maps but is doable time and again with practice. You will find the rail gun in the tower, where you can take cover and snipe. Most action is expected with SSG, CG, and RL.

Though this map appears large, the action can be quick and if you are not prepared to coordinate effectively, the match will be over before you know it!

On launching and playing, it gives the error, 'No player 1 start.' Please fix.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did - in his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.

It's not that uncommon for CTF maps and their kin to forgo standard player starts in favor of just having the team-based ones. Loading it in any CTF mode, teamgame, Skulltag, etc. should allow you to explore it.
