Hey dude are u gonna make this mod compatible with mm8bdm?(in the weapons menu only show doom weapons and doom items)

Well at the moment I am sadly not porting ASD to any mods as I'm working on finishing v11.
"making it compatible" means that I would rewrite the source code and put it in a separate file.

But in v11 I have included an API which will allow users to customize the mod on their own, thus making different ports.

Well I wanted to keep this secret until the release, but:
  • An API, making users able to customize the ASD mod, thus being able to port it to work with different mods.
  • Checkpoints
  • New, interactive list
  • Password to get admin access. (Which is optional to use)

well u can actually revive player by using the console command(resurrect
When dead, resurrects the player (brings him back alive and to 100% health). Note - cannot be used when the player is "broken apart" e.g. shattered to pieces after being frozen). but yeah i want revive monsters too

I know you can use the resurrect command. But that requires cheats, which this mod is supposed to work without.
Even if it would work without cheats it will require some hacky ACS workaround.
So... Impossible.

It has been discussed and suggested to be added into the ZDoom engine as an ACS function, but the devs have refused as it would break the game.

I won't add god mode because it's a little bit too "cheaty" (not saying this mod is not already :)). Give yourself the invulnerability sphere.
I don't know what "givelmsinvincible" is, but I would probably not add it.
If it's an item you can give it to yourself via the "Give custom item" command.

hey dude ur spawn and give custom are rly bad in multiplayer coop.(can u please make the give and spawn instead of choosing the letters, you have to type them? is pretty better).

Well that's the best they can get. You cannot type them because Zandronum only take keyboard input from the predefined keys (fire, use, jump, movement, etc). So doing what you're asking is infact impossible I'm afraid. This is the best method yet to be able to spawn/give custom things.

I have thought about implementing a history list, though. So that you could choose from what you've previously entered.

Well... I'm sorry to say, but it's hard partially due to that I'm rewriting the entire source. I also don't have that much freetime anymore. Real-life takes up much time nowadays. :S
I also have many projects going on... Doom Writer v3.0.0, ASD v11, +many other wads/applications that I'm working on.

Currently the code for v11 is 2349 lines or 96206 characters (letters/numbers/signs) long.
wow-that's-alot-of-writing :)


I cannot give you an estimate, but I promise you that I will get it released as soon as I can. But when it comes to this, I'm afraid you have to be really, really patient.

Can't believe nobody has said this yet.
How bout the ability to restrict use of certain console commands for people?
Y'know, so if someone wanted to host a cheat server they totally could without fear of it being crashed.

While that would indeed be a good feature, it is unfortunately not possible due to the limitations of the scripting engine. Mods can (mostly) not change the behaviour of the standard features in the game engine.

AdminScripts was created for this very purpose: To allow certain users to moderate and "cheat" on the server, but without allowing other users to do so.
This is also why I added the permission system (admin vs super admin) to the mod, to be able to further control what can and can't be done by the regular "admins".
