This pack is pretty damn awesome, definitively a keeper.

I've added the folder to the ./Zandronum/Skins folder, but I can't choose any other skins.
I have not added anything to zandronum.ini file - should I?
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong - or lack doing?

I'm not sure Zandronum checks the skins directory for subfolders (or at least, mine doesn't). I have to drag the .wad/.pk3 out of its folder and into the main skins directory.

Sorry, I wrote it wrong- I meant I put the .pk3 file in the folder .\Zandronum\Skins
I also tried extracting the .wad files and put them in the same folder, with no luck.

I've figured out it's Brutal Doom v19, that does something that disallows the loading of custom player skins.
The HD textures and "HD" soundtrack loads fine from the Skins folder though, so it seems to just be player skins it won't load.
Any ideas what in BD that could cause this? Could it be easily changed/"modded"?

Brutal Doom disables custom skins in favor of weapon skins and fatalities. If you don't care about weapon skins or mismatched fatality sprites, it's likely that you can just comment out (Put a // at the start of the line) both Weapon.PreferredSkin from the weapons, and +NOSKIN from the playerclass, if either of those are used. (Modifying the file will disallow joining servers with it, though)

You can only have one or the other. Brutal Doom disables custom skins. You could do what President said and edit BD to allow skins, but you would change back the the green doomguy skin every time you died or did a fatality.


(This is like the third time someone has said the pack doesn't work and then said "btw I'm using Brutal Doom" ... >.>)

Sorry about that Ænima - I searched for it a lot though, just never in conjunction with the Brutal Doom.
I also realised the reason why custom skins are most likely disabled in BD, because of custom death animations, "fatalities", etc.

I feel as if I should put huge red text in the OP that says "WILL NOT WORK WITH BD, COMPLEX, SST, OR ANY OTHER MOD THAT DISABLES SKINS". :p

I use this skin pack on my servers now instead of VRskins because the lacrimosa skin causes horrible lag for some reason. Please, please, please, don't ever add that skin.
