Since i entered the first time in the doomseeker i found myself asking: why the hell there's not an decent deathmatch mode for hexen?

Well, I started making a new mod which provides a new weapon set, new maps, skin support, new strings for each weapons, a few new artifacts, and some new decorations, skin modification support.

I called this mod Hexen DeathMatch Arena.
But the biggest thing (a suffered decision!) i changed is the classes significance. In fact, indipendently of the player class chosen, everyone will be able to pick up all kinds of weapons (obviously, for gameplay reasons).

After waiting a while (some weeks) the wad has been successfully uploaded to doom.dogsoft.net so the server can be found and played online on Zandronum! :biggrin:
The official server is findable on the doomseeker with the name:

SERVER NAME: :: [OFFICIAL] Hexen DeathMatch Arena v1.4

The Wad is now on version 1.4

Update:

RELEASED HEXDT1.3.PK3!! Hope you enjoy this! (i'm still waiting that doom.dogsoft.net accepts it.)

Changelog:
-New map. (MAP06)
-New weapon (Fighter's Gauntlet is not the primary weapon anymore.)
-Changed primary Weapon (Cleric's Mace)
-Changed Weapon organization (Selectable slots 1 to 9, and 9 has 3 weapons assigned)
-Maps remastering. (MAP01 enhanced, every map has every weapon).
-Italian translated. (My language XD)

UPDATE:

Released HexDT1.4.pk3!

Changelog:
-One new complex map (with a little surprise).
-Fixed a bug that couldn't allow you to use the strongest weapons if you switched to another weapon.
-Other bugfixes.
-Now the pk3 is lighter.

This seems like a good idea, I was looking to play it this morning but the server went down.

One thing I noticed, I can't seem to switch out of any of the mage or cleric weapons, only the fighter's weapons; I think it's a problem with the keyconf, I can help you with that if you want.

I modified the switching numbers: Hexen allowed you to use only the first 4 numbers, and I implemented the possibility to use all the switching numbers up to nineth.

Maybe, you had the other weapons in your inventory, but you didn't know that all the other weapons could be switched to by pressing the numbers from 5 to 9.

Let me know if this was the problem, as I think.

Actually I was using the mouse wheel to switch weapons (next / previous weapon), I didn't try it with the numbers.

I think the next / previous weapon aspect of it can be fixed with KEYCONF.

Oh, I see. Unfortunately, i couldn't notice the problem because i use the mouse wheel to switch the inventory items, not weapons :)

I'll have that as a next bugfix.

I'm sorry, unfortunately I'm hosting that server (I didn't pay for an external domain) and it obviously lags everytime i'm downloading or playing something else online :(

Good News everybody!

Because I saw a lot of people complaining and leaving the server due to the high lag, i decided to host the server as dedicated on http://www.[bad site]

Now the server name is:

This mapset is really great. Unlike some other trashy Deathmatch maps for Hexen I have played in the past, this is really top drawer stuff. The layouts are very well thought out and though i just skimmed through them all, I got a sense of what a true Hexen Deathmatch should feel and play like.

I'll pop by your server and challenge you to a 1 v 1 Deathmatch. From what I have seen, this is an excellent set of maps, worth downloading and playing. I'm going to give you 10/10 for effort.

Easy, just search for my server in Doomseeker, and it will automatically download the pk3 for you and run the game :)

Looks great. How can I host my server? What maps do you use? Which WAD order should I put? What DMFlags do I have to set? And so on.

They are missiling our Titan's shield. Re-activate on Silos.
