the weapon is pretty good :3, i like those sprites, but i feel they aren't coordinate, the shoot sprite is later than the real shoot, but the alt fire i think is ver OP for only take one shell, maybe should take clips(ammo) about 10 or 5, idk but pretty good 8.5/10

Thanks and I had a slight issue about figuring it out myself because of the way the sprites were named, and I suppose it is a little overpowered. BTW those sprites are from a website you can find it probably by looking up the zipfile name without PMS on the end of the name. Also I suppose I will make it consume more ammo. You'll have to tell me how you like it. New download in first post

I can bet a hundred bucks which I do not have that this shotgun is based on something I have seen before. I cannot exactly place it but I am sure I've seen it. Credits would be nice.

It takes too long for the muzzleflash to reach it's peak. I know in real life it does take some time after the shot for it to do so, but not that much.

Ideally, your gun should consist purely of 1 tic frames. If you are too lazy to create more frames carry about the filesize, you can use Offset parameter to create a sense of smoothness without adding more actual frames. TEXTURES lump could also be used for the same purpose, but more complex.

The gun has no graphical recoil whatsoever. I'm not talking about the camera jumping upwards, but rather the gun sprite. It's not like you have a completely recoilless shotgun here.

The glove feels off. I dunno why but it just does.


Overall, not bad enough. There is still a fair amount of room for improvement, but at least it's better than my guns.

I cannot say if this weapon is good or bad power wise because it is just a single weapon. Power is a comparable term - any given weapon may be overpowered when compared to some weapons and underpowered with some others. You generally don't worry about power of the weapon when your goal is to just release a single one and be done with it.

I was considering finding many and releasing a pack. Just to see how it goes. Make the a nice replacement for the Doom weapons perhaps?

I do have a quick question. How does one make an automatic weapon? Such as an assault rifle? Or a chaingun. Preferably the First one? Because I don't think it should be hard but my brain is saying none of the options I think of will work.

weapons are automatic by default, you have to use +NOAUTOFIRE and explicitly not use A_Refire to make them not automatic

edit: also you have the weapon sound playing twice in the primary fire, and having the alt-fire of the shotgun just as fast, with exactly the same cost, but much more accurate then the primary removes all need for the primary fire

Oops sorry, I am fixing it slowly. And I guess I meant How to Make it fire quickly. Like think of the Chaingun or Assault rifle from halo. Those things Where they fire fast rapidly. Would I use the loop command?
