Oh. Sweet. I assumed it was just a decoration but that's cool too!

If anyone wants to, I can provide all the sprites, textures, weapons, monsters, music and any other general resources that have to do with the holiday season. Resources are my speciality, as I like to call it.
You're welcome Sicamore! If you want a particular map slot tell me.
If you want to help me with the resource wad.... HERE you can find what I managed to build. It's dirty: some textures show up twice and it really needs to be cleaned out of all those duplicates, but I don't know how to do it.
Besides, there is one thing we need even more: Christmas monsters. See the previous page to find a detailed list of what's included and what not. I tried to turn them into Christmas versions by myself but spriting is something that it's just not for me; the best I could do is to recolor them. I'll take care of the mancubus anyway.

I'm using this in my map. I'll write the DECORATE for it. I'll probably just inherit from one of the "hanging body" actors or something else that is blocking and hangs from the ceiling.
Whatever resource you will add be sure to add it as extra actor, so that if anyone wants to use -that- actor "you" replaced with another thing he/she can still use it.

Also I'll post few screenies of my map later maybe.

I know, I know. I said that I was going to inherit from an existing actor (meaning make a new actor in DECORATE which behaves like an existing one but has different sprites). I'm not going to replace anything.

Also I just noticed that the iced water falls use the same texture names of the slime fall. Expect a fix within one hour.

3D Floors with additive translucency. I use the Bloom Effect as well. That might render the water so.... shiny!

Yo men! Merry x-mas and happy holidays!

I am sicamore, from the land of the snow. I will be taking care of the textures resource wad. Thank you luke for allowing me to take over this task.

For now, there will be ONE texture resource wad, which will contain only textures. For monsters and other actors, keep using the other resource. In doom builder, in turn, you will end up loading two resources to make your map: whatever the resource is for sprites, weapons and other things and the resource wad which i am compiling.

Once we reach a point where the monsters, items and music are all complete, we will compile everything into one major resource wad.

In order for me to do my job well, I will request the following things be done:
  1. Once you have finished your map with custom textures, send it to me!
  2. Please do not send zips or rars with pictures. The reason I will not permit this is because this may cause confusion with lump names and how i convert the actual picture in slade3.
  3. call your textures something unique! Save me the effort of battling duplicate textures by naming your textures something like S_SM123 instead of something bland like ROCKS.
  4. I will add some of my own textures if i find any.
  5. I will try to update the resource as much as possible so mappers can get a wide array of textures.

*If you are using high resolution textures, that is fine. However, you must make the TEXTURES lump in your map visible and have the code inside properly formatted as to avoid confusion. Also, don't forget to name the new patch and original picture unique names.

*Using brightmaps? They won't be added into the resource just yet, so hold tight for now if you have them in your map.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter! Also, please remember, NO GRAPHICS, weapons or monsters come to me. Yet at least.

Also, give me a random slot. I have dug up a 6 year old wad i did some time ago and will remake it to be christmas themed.
