Nice to see you joining mifu, and yes! It's slaughter fest are pretty much welcome, maybe threw in some ammo in case someone wants to host it as a survival wad, even though I know that I don't need to tell you.
Also there are broken sprites and textures to fix such as all the hanging victims/torsos, or the switches SW_OPEN0/SW_OPEN1, some teleport fog sprites and maybe (I hope not!) few more.
If you find anything else which need a fix let me know and I'll fix it.
Again, if you want to use resources not included in the resource wad send me everything whenever you want and I'll add them to the resource wad.

As many scripts as you wish! I'll give you map31, if you prefer map32 tell me and I'll see if we can get another secret map to place in the 31th slot, in case we do I'll make map33, otherwise I'll put my map in the 32th slot. (I'll make a non-secret map as well).

Hey guys I've been thinking, we shouldn't try too over-saturate our pak with Christmas themes. While looking at some other wads, many reviews say it starts to grow old, and the fun stops half-way. Of course this wad will be unique with differed authors, but I say limit the Christmas in a Christmas wad. Of course, finish up the maps, I just want to suggest that future maps should a bit more unique that isn't bound to Holiday festivities.
Q: "So what'll it turn into then?"
A: a Unique Christmas-Themed Community Chest (sort-of)
So, I believe since this is a Community Pak, we should be able to test our creativity and knowledge. Albeit, with Christmas as the
sweetener.

Of course, with Luke's consent.

If I make more progress, I'll have some images by the end of this week. ;D

Another update to the resource pack, I hope this will be the last one you need to download, a short changelog:
  • DOOR2_1 texture is now named DOOR21.
  • M1_1 is now named S_MID1_1
  • Most of the snow textures now use the prefix "S_". You might have to re-assign few textures, I hope they aren't many, excuse me.
  • Added actors 30004 (StreetLamp) and 30005 (Christmas Tree, animated).
  • Actor 48, TechPillar is available again.
  • Fixed the height of the soulsphere, invisibility and invulnerability.
  • The snow-covered plasmagun is back (I don't know how I removed it).
  • Cleaned the logo over the main menu.
  • Perfectionated five item sprites.
  • Added a couple of dozens of christmas textures.
If there is anything that you don't link/wish to suggest to add/remove/modify in the resource pack, just tell me. Criticism is welcome, twice if comes from someone who's making a map for this project.

I don't know if I got it, you're saying to make a community chest wad, holiday-themed; something which will include even other festivities and not stricly bound to the Christmas. Right? It's a good idea and I'd love to see something like that made, but we can't make it just now: a project like that would take a better preparation, we should have a resource wad yet ready to use as first thing, while I'm still completing the christmas-only-resource wad. Furthermore, such project requires a very good detail level, as well as 32maps; something which this wad will not reach within three weeks.
If you wish to make something like that start building a good resource pack with every resource needed, and then try to make a topic and see how many good mappers are willing to help.

Oh no! I meant the wad shouldn't be entirely Christmas, feature in the maps people also want to make besides Christmas styled ones. Sorry to confuse you, and I meant nothing about another holiday.

The maps would be not much to look at: try to run the resource pack alone and play doom2 to see what I mean.

I think he meant different themed maps except with xmas stuff in them.

For example, most xmas wads are situated in a city of some sort. So what if we had xmas in hell or w/e. Thats how I interpreted that.

Also, I could make a simple script that displays the map name etc when the map loads (or upon joining the game). Let me know if you want that done.

Anyways yea I can either rip the one from SST/Delta invasion OR Ive got one from invasion unleashed which also can give maps a difficulty rating if you like. Which ever one is up to you

Yea it is a function, so all it needs is parameters then it will print out the difficulty off the map, as the user sets it via acs.

If anyone wants to, I can provide all the sprites, textures, weapons, monsters, music and any other general resources that have to do with the holiday season. Resources are my speciality, as I like to call it.
