parkmore is not conducive to a horror environment

do you want wall dodging octuple-jumping murderers
or people with chainsaws that can run faster than a fighter jet
that is bad

What do you mean by "block corridor"? A dead-end or something? From where I stand on that screen, there is a door to the right too which actually leads to the 3rd screen, so it isn't.

I think he means that there are a lot of very square and flat surfaces. Adding in some bumps and curves and even some floor details can give that small hallway a lot of depth (without actually giving more room, so to speak).

Oh, I see. I will definitely add some more detail everywhere, this is a very unfinished stage.

I meant that player can be easily blocked from both sides and be berthed, burned.

Ey guys, I had planned to make a Rule of Rose map for WDI for a long long time, and now, after months of mapmaking, I start to wonder if this map isn't a bit too small....
Image
***Note this is just basic layout of map. Doors, items, layout decorations and player spawns will be added later. And yes, I know it's linear. But it must be - it is an airship.

I like how the map is appearing so far, but I think it is a decent size as well.

Hey, Im kind of new here to the forums, but iv been playing doom online for a while, mostly all out war, and who dun it, some of you might know me because im using the same name i use in game. I have experience mapping but for a iwad that isnt doom, but im intrested in making a whodunit map. Has anyone by any chance taken a minecraft styled map yet? if so, i would like to make one. One question, are there any tutorials or anything for people making a whodunit map or am i just gonna have to look at other maps if i do this?

You could look at the different WhoDunIt maps that are already made to learn how to create certain aspects of a map (i.e Murderer Holes, Scripts, and Item Spawning Locations).

Looks promising, but I think colours are a bit monochromatic.

Anyway I was recently clearing my doom folder and found this collection of unfinished, unreleased or old versions of wdi maps.
I don't have a permission to share them, so I guess I'll just post screenies.

There is also a map by Capt.J3 I wanted to show, but he is about to finish it.
And there is also a sci-fi map by Conflagrated (called Station7 or something), but it was shown only on screenshot, and it's missing :/
Oh and yeah, there was a hotel map by Batandy, but then he gone working on serious sam for doom.

DAMN, these maps look really good! Never thought someone still has my unfinished school-like map. I would finish some of these, like the Gargoyle's Nest or Blizzard. If you don't plan on finishing them, can I have them for finishing?:3

I remember seeing the map "Gallery" in greater depth before, but I do hope that some of these maps get finished, as they would look great in Who Dun It.

They looks good Zeberpal and CloudFlash some maps have pontencial to be completed. Im making a pack of news maps, but will take some time to be done, because I'm still something noob making maps.I would not want to show pictures yet, but will be better than map wdi14 (my first map).

Eh, why the hell not. Everybody's doing it, so here are some (rather lackluster) early shots just to show that I'm not dead.

Nice ^^ screenshots Peanut. I must admit I had the same idea to make a train, but you did it first, so I hope to make a similar map in the future. I love the dark places in wdi look good. thanks for share all the images.

Great use of that red brick texture on 2nd screen. This whole level looks very similiar to silent hill 3 subway.
