While I may not duel much anymore...

UDM3 MAP03
UDMX MAP02
Dwango6 MAP01
Shoot

D6M1 feels just blargh when dueling, Shoot sucks IMO (and it's boring as hell to watch), and the UDM maps, while fine, are too DM oriented imo.

Hang on one minute I got Boo and Duel 16 mixed up. I thought Duel 16 had the lift to the BFG and the circular pit. Damn looks like I'll have to edit the post, just shows you that I haven't dueled for bare time.

Get rid of:

Dwango6 map01 (This is NOT a duel map. Its huge!)
Brit10 map02 (Boring map)
Styxdm01 map01 (I don't think I have ever seen anyone play this map)
Duel16 because its dumb and nobody even remembers duel16.

My vote in is for gothicdm map01 and map02
Like a good neighbor, UD is there! http://www.unidoom.org

Duel16 is fun for fucking around, it's not like it takes up any of the 32 normal map slots anyway.

Dwango5 MAP07
UDM3 MAP03
Greenwar MAP24
Sipooma

I have my personal reasons for not liking D5M7.

It's actually a nice map to train your aim and warm up, likewise shoot should not be removed due to the same reason (Referring to duel16)
On second review, maps I would like replaced :
Brit10map07
Sipooma
Aurora
Probably Boo

Also for those who vote out judas/D5M7 : Don't think it'll happen because of the maps' popularity and history. Plus it might drive any good players coming from other ports away, since they probably wouldn't take this pack seriously should those two core maps be removed.

I hope to see oblivix still being used in the duel32. it was one of my favorites :)
I also would like to see Manzer_x be put back in.
As for a secret map I want to see UDMX map 06 Gridlock.

should get rid of brit10 maps. other than that I like the rest.

Dwango5 MAP07
32in24 MAP26
Doom 2 MAP01
Judas23_

As for maps I'd like to see brought back, Foxtrot_ and BAHDK01 . I'd like to duel on Doom E1M1, too.

That's AFAIK impossible. Duel32 does not actually contain Doom2 Map01 in it; it loads it from the Iwad and then places the items based on where the wad tells it to. To have Doom1 E1M1, you would have to tear it out of the Iwad itself, a huge no-no in Doom.

Dwango5 Map07 is just a ripoff of another already-awful map. It's flat, boring, and is basically just Shoot with a few more weapons, less health, and cover.

Judas23_ mainly consists of BFG Spamming and doesn't have much cover to protect from it. It also feels way too tall and not wide enough for no Freelook, let alone Infinite Thing Height... The only saving grace is to wait to spawn to let the opponent waste their cell ammo while spamming, if that is the case. There are also some protrusions and such that are easy to get stuck on.

Boo is extremely linear, like Doom 2 Map01. Getting trapped in the Plasma Gun pit is too easy, as well as the circular area with the staircase, and the teleport isn't very useful, seeing as it is one-way and leads you to a vulnerable spot.

In addition, Judas23_ and Boo have awful spawns. Boo's spawns are towards dead ends and in the middle of large areas or corridors, and Judas23_'s spawn offer little-to-no protection (I.E: Spawning on poles, in windows, etc.)
You're clearly a newer player. Judas, D5M7 and Boo are all very well-known competitive maps. D5M7 and Boo I'll admit take quite a while to adapt too, but Judas is very solid map for both newer and more seasoned players.

Judas is NOT good for "newer" players and a lot of "seasoned" players hate it. But that doesn't mean I think you should rip it out, just saying that there are plenty of Judas-haters out there who aren't new to this...

When I go into a Duel32 server with 8 highly skilled players and 6 of them say they either dislike or outright hate Judas, then I'm not "talking for people."

i agree with llewellyn, but if all here still insulting the only thing u guys gonna do is send the thread to the hell, everyone here think different because we are humans, if you have a opinion of someone do a constructive opinion, not insulting him like "you suck" is better a "i don't agree with you because..." or "i don't think so" is ok

Your point?

There is nothing in this world that every single person is going to either like or dislike. There's always people on both sides of anything, the fact that _some_ seasoned players don't like Judas doesn't mean it's a bad map. I could do a complete reverse and say that as a veteran player, I don't like D5M1 (which is completely untrue, just using it as an example) therefore it must be a bad map because one vet player doesn't like it even though it's one of, if not THE, most played competitive map in the community. Seriously? Great logic you have there.

And on the flip side, I know plenty of new players who enjoy Judas. In fact, AlexMax released chosen map statistics on his Duel32 servers collected over a long period of time and Judas was literally the most picked map, and by a decent margin only even closely rivaled by D5M1. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Negative. IIRC he posted it on the old Skulltag forms which obviously don't exist anymore. I checked the Altdeath forums but didn't see it there. If you really want just PM Alex for them.

I've been on teamspeak with alexmax himself, Judas23 is the most played/completed map out of the entire map set. So if judas is #1, and all of you are against it, then why are you playing it all the time? Your opinions deserve a good bashing if you are going to be hypocritical.

Last place is Aurora and that 32in24 map I mentioned. And no, I don't need proof to say it on his own thread.
