RE: (GZDOOM RELEASE) Rainbow Factory Director's Cut
Thanks for the feedback Decay, I'll fix it as possible in the zandronum version, but I will not forgive for the GZDOOM one.

RE: Rainbow Factory Director's Cut
Saw this being played quite a few times on the BE server and decided to revisit this thread and actually play through the entire wad.
I'm not going to reiterate my first post, and Decay already hit the nail for the visual quality of the wad, but unlike Decay I didn't use any cheats and I went through room for room trying to beat this here wad. So let's talk about that shall we?
In concern of the story I actually bothered looking up 'Rainbow Factory' and brushing up on what this wad is based upon. Of course the creepy pasta was an equivalent to a short story so I did a tl;dr and just skimmed a majority of it but I mainly paid attention to the bits that this wad takes place in. Now besides all the grammatical errors the wad does follow closely to the story regardless that this is practically canon. Although I don't follow the show I do understand that the term 'everypony' is a major staple for mlp and mlp related but when it comes to this? It's absolutely silly when you just get done murdering your former 'pony' colleagues and the next line of dialogue that shoots from your mouth is a reminder that yes this is based off a children's tv show.
Right off the bat after acquiring a few guns and exploring a hallway of empty rooms and doors I experience a jump scare. Although I understand everyone's large fascination over the five nights at freddy's, these are just an excuse to produce a scare factor when there is lack there of. To me, fnaf and wads/games that do this are basically just simulators of going onto youtube and purposely searching for jump scare videos.
The sounds for my main character completely ruin any possible 'creepy' vibe when I hear an adult voice actor imitating a young and bright pony making a light hearted 'augh' sound. Same goes for the sprites of the ponies themselves, the whole point in making something creepy is to simulate it's realism and to make the ponies a little more threatening to see... In this wad they all seem pretty happy that they are being incarcerated and wishing for the sweet embrace of death.
And like what Decay said you have been around long enough after your swan fox wads to know that trying to implement a text based story in your wads just doesn't go the way you expect it, maybe sticking to visuals only or getting someone who can properly speak english to proof read your story would have been a better route to take. I have a couple of examples I'd like to list for you:
After beating the other humanized pony I run into another I guess 'bad pony' ??? And my character expresses how much she wants to kill this pony until Rainbowdash axes her off for me, after which my 'badass' pony complains to the magical voice that "aw man I wanted to kill her!!!", which is the worst line you could have picked for her. It gets better when Rainbowdash's retort is "oh whatever", I mean it feels like there is very little effort being given here.
Second being a audio log I found after acquiring the six keys which is of a pony named 'Glaze' describing all the horrors and etc. Then at the end chooses to take her own life rather than being a pawn, I actually somewhat enjoyed reading it until my main character's remark on that situation was "I sure am glad Glaze decided to kill herself instead of becoming a zombie" -- let's be honest that is REALLY fucked up. Sure she doesn't want to be a zombie but damn can't my guy show any pity or remorse?
Story aside there needs to be a fix for the amount of ammo available to the player, I ran out way too soon and ended up having to dodge most of my fights which wasn't good because it seems your map runs a script that endlessly spawns hordes filling up small hallways and blocking those incredibly slow doors. On the flip side however that chainsaw was a huge upgrade from everything I had in my arsenal, it was unreasonably fast and stunned any mob that got too close killing them in a half a second each. I actually liked the idea you had with monsters coming out of doors and vents rather than just teleporting in, don't see that much of that being used but it's not clear which doors are meant for monsters and which ones the player can open.
All in all at the end of the day I have to be honest and say there is no way you can take a concept like my little pony and try to integrate it into a high octane and high testosterone game like doom as well as try to give it a horror aspect, it just does not work in any context. Instead you should listen to Decay's advice and work on your mapping abilities more before you attempt another project, there is potential as I saw a few areas in the map that I did like the looks of like the different colored tubes that ran through the base and eventually all leading to the final room. And I do hope that you are taking in some of these criticisms to heart and using it to better yourself as there really is no such thing as a bad mapper but bad execution of maps.

Spoiler: The Ending (spoilers) (Open)
