You mean like a mech enemy? There are some already that I saw, but I haven't seen all the monster types yet, I only played CFH01 and CFH02 so far.
I guess, put them in if they suit the theme of the map.

There are some monsters in AOD that I have never seen used in any map, lightning knocked out LAN port on my PC, once I get that replaced I'll dig out the assets so I can show you what I mean.

If you were really focused on "unique" gameplay, i think heavily revising (or just outright redoing) many of the maps would help a lot, because honestly most of the maps are pretty boring, the layouts are blocky and the architecture is unoriginal.


Some things I would recommend paying close attention to:

  • firefight intensity and difficulty progression
  • bottlenecks/choke points
  • putting the monster spawns in places where they can't be directly shot at or camped
  • height differences
I just don't understand what's wrong with people like you...I REALLY think your Jealous cause this guy has made something that is Unique and is liked by everyone and you guys just HAVE to say "Yeah but" no matter what, here is something of a good idea, give criticism when its ASKED...and if you don't like his work, don't play it, make your own good enough and enjoy playing it, don't ruin others good work with your stingy words...

There are just trying to help me on making this project better, If I had enought time then I would be able to make the maps better, but this'll certainly won't happen in this month because of my exams.

For future reference, this is the absolute WORST way to respond to criticism.

@Sepia-Paper: Learn how to respond to criticism or just go back to DeviantArt. Nobody's jealous of your subpar mapping skills. If there's anyone playing it, it's because it's something new being hosted and players are curious to see what it is.

1. It's not unique. It's an invasion mappack with Beastiary monsters. Wheeeee. Never seen that before.

2. It's not liked by everyone, it never will be because everyone has different tastes. Even if it WAS liked by everyone, most of the maps still suck and that doesn't change.

3. Why can't we say "yeah but"? This mod is certainly nowhere near perfect and there are lots of things to point out.

I tried to copy and paste the skulltag data into the copy of the announcer from the skulltag file that was pasted into Zandronum and I tried it on Zandronum in it's folder but unfortunately it gives me an error. So, you can please tell me how we put the skulltag addon files into Zandronum's folder without Zandronum getting an error when opening up the Zandronum executable file using steps and screenshots. I've been figuring out how to use Zandronum with skulltag addon files without getting errors and it was difficult for me to figure it out myself. So I'll need your help with that.

The best way to make it works is to load the files in order with a program like Doom Explorer.

Another universal method also called Batch Execution,
1: First make a new Text file Inside the place where Zandronum is (D:\Program Files\Zandronum)

4: You must put file names in the order you want them to load first, most of the Modders here tell in which order you must put the load their files
5: After all that save the file and then rename its formate from .txt to .bat, and then Run.
6: You can also edit the file again in notepad by right clicking and selecting Edit

Hope its useful and you can also use the same method with many other things then just Doom.

The announcers are automatically loaded from the announcer folder inside Zandronum directory, you can put any announcer files there and then run the game, Go the player settings and chose your Announcer.

etc

Going inside pk3 files is messing with the program itself which you should only do if your a modder and know what your doing.

  1. Search your hard drive for "zandronum.exe", or right click the Zandronum shortcut if you have one and look at the file path
  2. go to the folder that contains zandronum.exe and open the "Announcers" folder. Put your announcer pk3's in there
  3. run zandronum. go to the options menu, either player setup or sound options (i forgot) and select your announcer

I saw the screenshot and I still can't find it. I'm using Windows 7 which I don't know if there's any difference between the local disks but it looks like that you may have to give me the download link to the announcer.
