Well then, if you consider the official results to be unlike what you dreamt of, maybe next time try getting into the jury instead of hiding god only knows where? :p

Shitty contest for shitty maps. Don't really get why anyone wants to get awarded for that. Or download and play this thing -If gardevoir asks me to judge another one I'll kill him!

If something like this were done for competition maps I'd definitely jump in. Everyone knows I can't map worth a damn x)

After seven years, my blasphemous abortion is finally put in the ground.

I was instructed to award scores by whatever basis I wanted, so I awarded scores by whatever basis I wanted.Untitled wrote: a lot of words
First, this content is not entirely serious. Thus the judging is not entirely serious either - and thus questioning the judging is highly unlikely to yield you any results other than "lol because".
Well, technically, I'm currently providing results other than "lol because", but that's just because I'm a deranged person.
Second, everyone has vastly different ideas of what is shit and what is not, what kind of shit should win more in this contest and which less, etcetera etcetera etcetera. So it's natural that some people's vision of "shit" are different than yours. This is why there is as much as five judges on this.
Third. I'll tell why I specifically gave CloudFlash's map the highest score. Being frank, my initial score for it was a mere 5. Yeah, a five. Nothing special. Because at first sight, it was truly nothing special.
But as the time went on, and I judged other maps, my mind, while darting back and forth between thoughts in it's free time, would constantly return to the beast that is Waterfall. I kept thinking about it, and kept unraveling interesting things about it. At some point of time, I figured out that my mind is fairly strongly fixated on it. At some point of time, I had a nightmare about it. Brrr.
In terms of unplayability, Waterfall loses square to some of the other works, but unlike most, Waterfall is deep. Most of the maps are simple turds that are easily understood at first sight - Waterfall is a highly complex multilayered piece of crap that takes time to figure out. The shittiness of Waterfall plagues my mind even at this point - while I would never ever consider seriously actually playing it ever again, I do think about it every so often. It's shittyness transcends time. It is True Shit.
In other words, it is memorable. Unique. This is why I decided to award Cloud Flash with a winning place - over the course of judging, his map received the most edits to it's score from me, rising from 5 to 9. I sort of expected to be in the minority on this one actually, but, huh, looks like I'm not the only judge who thinks similarly.
Alamo? Terribly sorry, but I don't really even remember which map that is.
One could argue that finding the most memorable map is not the goal of this contest, but all I can say on this matter is "refer to points 1 and 2".
RE: Shitty Map Contest #4 Results! Compilation released!
Ah. So that's why.
I think I'm somewhat biased; it's more that I compare everything to catastrophe from SMC 2. Where was he, this time? He could've easily won, given the, well, catastrophe that was MAP24 of SMC2pack.wad.
Basically, what I'm doing is judging based on the same standard that the first was judged by; clearly the judging was different this time; though admittedly nothing legitimately looked like it should've been unable to function (which, at first I was convinced that the map wasn't actually playable until I, well, iddqd the first 90% of, then ragequit).
EDIT: Where's SMC 1 and SMC 3? I still can't find them anywhere.

Tbh the maps weren't as utterly horrible as I thought I'll get bombarded with judging this. And in next competitions can slow as shit doors\elevators and mm\cyber-fisting fences be banned from usage. At least make the maps creatively shitty instead of simulating a traffic jam.
Side note : Can't people just host their wads on bestever or at least use a site without 100 download buttons and horrible ads next times. Oh and that site with a 20 min wait time before the download button is unlocked, and locked again if you didn't click download within 10 secs :\.

SMC2 was technically SMC3 because SMC2 was a failure that never happened. SMC1 had no compilation pack from what I remember (and was hosted back in the ST days).

Damn, now I want to print Hexa's entire post and hang it over my fireplace. It feels so good to know that I made something so incredibly terrible, it gave someone else nightmares! :D
