When I saw mediocre, I figured it'd be simplistic maps with enough monsters to prove a challenge. And yet, I saw completely bland/non-sensical maps, some of which are impossible to 100%. Seriously, 2 Cybruisers at map02? When you only have a shotgun at best? No health packs? What made me laugh (a little) was the fact that the area with the first Cybruiser was a secret. And in it, I see... a super shotgun. Way to make people strive for secrets. Going to delve in again, this time with an unfair advantage, since I do want to see how much I need to get a 100% in every map.
Edit: Yeah... No. Half the ceilings are too low, and by just barely, so it makes you wonder if you're supposed to crouch or the creator just f'ed up. Levels aren't mediocre at all - they're bland and they're unfair. Two things I thought of in map... 5: "Oh, let's put some random monsters for the player to fight with little to no cover, healthpacks or ammo. And afterwards, how about we put a megasphere right after the battle?" "Swimming is a fun idea, let's make the player swim around while under constant fire." The boss battle was the breaking point. You fight another Cybruiser and 4 Hell knights. On the other side of the map, you get a secret plasma gun, invincibility and ammo. Let me repeat that. On the other side of a square map, you get a secret plasma gun, invincibility and ammo. Oh, and the level ends once everyone is dead. Have fun.
Honestly? It seems to be a *cough* Baby's first doomwad. Not that I'm allowed to speak, per se, but I don't think the very first wads you make should be published...
