Okay, let's go over a few things because I don't think you entirely understand what my post is about:
1. I came into a server, was talking to people, not paying any attention to these kids (this is completely true for BOTH CASES, might I add) and they decided to pipe up and call TM shit. If they want a "stress-free playtime environment," why the fuck are they calling another clan bad? Are they just doing that to relieve stress? Do they expect 0 repercussion? I doubt they're that oblivious- although some of their actions say otherwise...
2. Welcome to the forums- where people are NOT playing pub. What I say here- right here, in this thread- doesn't affect how these people play pub. Actually, I take that back. It SHOULDN'T affect how they play at all. Unless they suddenly take this all to heart and get so emotional that they can't play Doom at their normal level of skill, then what I say on the forums doesn't stop them from going back into pub and playing CTF. Especially if they're the ones who initiated this little quarrel (see #1).
3. I don't even know how to respond to the first sentence of that quote. How the fuck does challenging a competitive clan stifle competition? That makes no sense whatsoever. Like I said, unless they start to get really self-conscious and just stop playing Doom altogether (since they normally only play a few games of pub each year), then the competitive scene will see virtually no detriment at all. If you can point me to an example where challenging a competitive clan makes people not want to play competitive Doom, please, be my guest.
4. Be the "bigger man" and ignore them? You do realize this is a game, right? And that it's not going to have any effect on my mental, physical, or emotional well-being if some 14 year old says I'm not good? I'm not hurt by any of this, I'm not upset that they called us a bad clan- I'm amused. I'm making this challenge, like I said (I on't want to copy/paste it anymore) for these kids to step up to their words. If they want to play on this port and think they can talk shit and run their mouth, they should be able to handle it when people challenge them.
So like I said, I'm totally willing if VGL wants to scrim or even have a clanwar. We can set that up, definitely. But if you really think that it will make other people not want to play Doom, then we can push it to the side, you know, for the sake of the community. That being said, I'll reword what I wrote above: you really don't have any structure to base your input off of. You're not the players being challenged. You're not me. You're not the kid who spoke up in pub. So why do you think you have a say in the matter? If you were the voice of reason, you would be posting completely different ideas.
Actually, while we're on the topic, I would like to say that I believe this is exactly what everyone's been talking about for the past week- no one plays competitively anymore, and we need a spark. Hell, people even completely agree that trash-talking inspires competition, so I don't see why anyone would think this is "bad".

Okay Goliath, let's sit down and have a chat. I'm glad you spent the time to go through the demos and log what was being said by Edd and I! That's very thoughtful and useful! I also appreciate how you conveniently left out what everyone else was saying in the server, and that the person I started talking to is not the same person who I'm calling out. Don't you think that makes a difference? I do. If it was, then I would probably be less inclined to post this challenge in the first place. If I provoked them, then fine, they can shit talk, whatever, we can figure it out in game or something, cool. But if someone shit talks me, then fine, I'll call them out, no problem. So If we're talking about general "shit-talking," and not considering who the words are directed at, then let's go to the start of the server, see who talked down to anyone first, and blame them, since, of course, it doesn't matter if these people are the same people we're challenging, we're just talking about shit-talking!

Oh, glad you brought this up (again)! If I cared enough about getting the exact logs, I'd go through the demo and paste them here, but since I frankly don't, then you can either take my word for it or check for yourself and see that the person who I was talking to in the first place isn't the same person I'm calling out. Now, I'm glad you did take this personally, because in this case you care enough to actually go back through the logs of the server- that's useful. Just go back and get them all, please. That would be nice.

I'm glad you're here to speak on their behalf, and are graciously letting me know how I should spend my time. I'll also admit that I called out a kid who talks a lot for blaming his lack of skill on lag, but what does that even have to do with this? Do you want me to answer that for you? Because the answer is "nothing". That kid has nothing to do with this at all, and you're seriously contorting what actually happened so you can give input towards something you know next to nothing about (competition) towards people who aren't addressing you at all. So since we're talking about how the kid I first called out has nothing to do with this post, I'll gladly point out that YOU have nothing to do with this post. This isn't a "baww" post, that's an idiotic thing to think- let alone say. This is a challenge. Is a challenge a "baww" post? Do you live in a 14-year old COD player's mind, where anything you say is word of God, but anything anyone else retorts is piss-poor and uncalled for?

Why don't you mind your own business everywhere? Hm? I didn't realize pub is a sacred ground, where you must focus on yourself and only yourself, yet the forum is the roman baths, and you can push your nose into things you, well, flat out shouldn't. Like I said, we're talking about stuff you don't really know a lot about (competition). So don't even get me started on "bullying people" from the "spectator slot," because, my God, if there was a Zandronum.exe that never let you actually play Doom, and instead you'd just float there and look at everything, maybe chip in your two cents once in a while, you'd own the only copy.
This was a pretty long post, so pardon me if I repeated myself. In fact, take note if I repeated myself. I probably did it to get across a point that still has yet to cross the barrier that imposes itself in front of your conscious thought processes. Now kindly, bluewiz, goliath, you both don't have to post anymore. If you have an issue with me, PM me. If you have an issue with our clan, challenge us. If you have an issue with me challenging other people, don't. Don't have an issue. Because, and I'll repeat myself AGAIN, so write this down or something: this doesn't concern you at all, so you shouldn't even be talking up a storm.
