New to Doom competition? Or just wanting a clan to join? Well this thread is for you!

Post an application here! You should post about how long you've been around in doom, how active you plan to be and your general contact information.
Pictures/demo's are welcome as well! but make sure said demo's are involving a competitive game-mode if it's for a competitive clan.

I would also encourage any clan leader that is recruiting to post in this thread, state your entry requirements and what you expect of them.

It should be noted that most clans can be contacted on irc.zandronum.com. However, other clans can be contacted via irc.quakenet.org and irc.rizon.net.

Outside of IRC, these clans will usually have discord servers available, so check regularly for those!

Remember, multi-clanning is generally not allowed between most competitive clans, other than that, good luck!

Just a quick update for those reading this thread, whilst most of the IRC channels are still available, the majority of these clans are now active on discord moreso than irc.

Not an official rule nor can it be practically enforced. It's usually a clan rule enforced locally by private entities (clans running themselves)

Neat idea, I guess I'll post what I told you yesterday. I've personally seen a handful of clanless players on CTF and duel servers and they might even be interested in some competitive action, but might not know how to approach clans and their respective leaders. Advertising this page in one way or another in CTF and duel servers could possibly allow them to find out more about the clan scene.

No idea if this topic is still active, considering that the last post is from a year ago...

I'm looking for a clan. Not that I'm that great or anything, but I'd like to get back on the competitive side of Doom, as well as spend more time on Doom in the process.

Don't waste your time. Clans don't matter anymore. Look for individuals or a group of people you get along with and just hang around them. Clans are social clubs anyway.

The [Sun] is a non-competetive group that focuses on creating new maps, monsters, weapons, mods, and teaching how to do these things.
We are looking for anyone who is eager to learn, or better, who is eager to learn and then teach others.

If anyone is looking for an active competitive clan then UP is a good place to join. Our aim is to make the clan scene more active as it is in quite bad state right now, as well as enjoy the game with friends during clan events. What we require from our members is to be at least somewhat known and active. If none of our members will have any objections, you'll most likely be allowed to join. If you're interested, be sure to message either me or Moti.

are clans ever going to play scrims again. or doom? pretty sure you can't call yourselves competitive if you don't compete...

Updated the thread after a year (Sorry!). I doubt this will matter as much nowadays but anybody reading this should still use it as a basis when it comes to the current clan scene.

[RG] - Royal Guard is a competitive clan looking for new players especially ones that are interested in clan scrims.

Oh I'm not any good at that style of game play, sorry. While [RG] is mostly for Doom 2 CTF, if enough members are interested I will consider doing other game modes as well.

Also, would you consider yourself good at DoomWare?
