clans thread idea
Don't you think that after a clans death discussion can still occur? Maybe unless discussion goes inactive for like 1 month, I understand moving it. But maybe allow them to stay after death. When I mean discussion, I mean directly related to the clan.

RE: clans thread idea
It's unnecessary to keep topics about dead clans around. It would serve no purpose.

RE: clans thread idea
Maybe reasons why they died?
RE: clans thread idea
How is that beneficial?
RE: clans thread idea
Clans are integral to [online] doom's culture and are often used to note an era within said culture. I'd rather there be a sticky thread about dead clans in general-this way the sanctity of an ex-clan's thread can remain neat, sealed, and archived for the history channel
I'm sure administration has their reasons. I thought I'd chime in because they gave some weird answers :P

Completely agree. The history of competetive doom is interesting.Strych6 wrote: Clans are integral to [online] doom's culture and are often used to note an era within said culture. RE: clans thread idea
There's already a subforum where all dead clans go to. It's in the same subforum as all active clans.Strych6 wrote: Clans are integral to [online] doom's culture and are often used to note an era within said culture. If a clan does die, most of them will have a post in their thread why it did. If they didn't, you could always PM the leader if you want to ask.
There's no need to make a special announcement for clans that die, especially when many clans that do are small and last for a few weeks.

Projects completed : PROCTF, Jump Maze, Tricky ST, RJX, RJX Remastered, Jump Maze X
Newest Project : Nothing at present, potentially a JM1 update.
Jumpmaze X post is here viewtopic.php?f=58&t=9981&p=115929#p115929
I always love these calm moments before the storm...

A better question! How is this thread beneficial??Zap610 wrote: How is that beneficial?
Clans don't even last that long around here. Most of them are usually joke clans or they have people that are extremely inactive.

Swift as a breeze, fierce as a gale.
RE: clans thread idea
A dead clan is a dead clan. Clans come and go, and the average Doom clan lifespan (nowadays) is anywhere from 6 months to maybe a year. In the old days it was different, but yeah.
There's really no need for a dead clan's thread to linger around. That's like saving an empty bag of Doritos after you've already eaten them all.

RE: clans thread idea
I like Strych's idea, it would be good for those who linger around the past. Pretty sure everyone's had a moment where they discuss their old clans and who was in it and what was so great about it.
RE: clans thread idea
I have felt the need to add something or express myself in thread of a clan that just died while I was asleep. So I like the idea of not locking clan threads immediately.

Maybe we can send dead clan threads to the dead clan threads section but still make them postable?Konar6 wrote: I have felt the need to add something or express myself in thread of a clan that just died while I was asleep. So I like the idea of not locking clan threads immediately.
