An event such as "Monday Mod Showcase" could fit the bill - the idea would be to seek out new or less played mods for the community to try (and to see how badly they break with lots of players ;)), furthermore an event like this might encourage those with modding talents to create new and interesting mods for it.
So what do you guys think? I'd volunteer to lead this initiative if other people are interested.

Idea is to make it fortnightly-ish, spend first week looking for and testing mods, then announce when the first week of the fortnight is up if something is found.
However, if nothing is found then we simply won't make an announcement for the event and will look again next week. This gives the event a fail safe in that it's not set in stone that it must occur every x days, so it's not a problem if we cannot find a suitable mod at the time.
Also, the event will probably not aim to be too long, unlike say FnF or SnS, due to some mods not being able to sustain gameplay for more than one or two hours.
