Well folks ,

First I would like to apologize for my English, I'm Brazilian and I'm still learning ;)

I'm another one who is having problems in relation to open doors , but I lost more than 5 continuous hours without success to open the door 10666 !

Well, I was trying to start the server by Windows 8.1 , but to facilitate the management server , I chose to install a virtual machine with Windows Server 2008 R2 .

Well , I did everything within the line , open the doors 10666 and 15300 on the router and the windows firewall , ran both DoomSeeker as Zandronum as administrator , and pointed the IWADS PWADS correctly. But the site OpenPortCheck , nothing appears to open the door 10666 . I can only see the server on my local network . When I add my external IP manually in doomseeker , returns me as <NO RESPONSE>.

What is puzzling me is that I conducted tests with a Minecraft server on port 25565 and tested to enable RDP server native Windows Server 2008 R2 using port 3389 , and these doors open perfectly! The whole procedure was performed in the same way to open the door 10666 and it simply does not open.

I tried to be more drastic and decided to not only release ports for the virtual machine, but enable the DMZ for the VM!

Guess what? None. The doors of the MC and RDP work beautifully, but the goddamn 10666, no.

I will be sending a picture of how is the server configuration in VM. Who want to test, even he is the 3389 released for access by remote desktop of windows.

200.217.200.15

Is it folks. I can't wait to open a server ZDoomWars, I'm trying to make around 2 days and today specifically I was 5 hours continuously researching how to run the server without success.

I will appreciate any hint! And any questions please ask me.

You can change the port the server uses using -port in the command line, perhaps try using the minecraft port.

But when I set the port in that window, I still need to use the "-port" command?

I tried using the following ports:

- 80
- 1200
- 8080
- 10666
- 10667
- 17033
- 17038
- 25565

But with no success.

Really is a mystery what is happening here. It is like was something missing to say to the modem "Hey, I'm using port UDP 10666! Release it!". More specifically, it is like not openning UDP port. Does it have something about? If yes, it is possible to make the server using TCP?

Uhh, you connect with your Internal IP, players connect with your external IP.
Give it a try.

How they will connect by external ip if the server port is not open? Hamachi?

Just test, 200.217.200.15:10666, the server is active on my VM, and tell me if you can join.

I can see your server just fine! If you cannot see it on your external IP, you may have a crappier router that doesn't let you connect on own external IP. Just add your server's local IP to custom servers.

Connect to 192.168.254.100 when hosting. That's the IP you need to connect to.

Okay guys. The question is that I want to launch my server on MasterServer in order to be listed! I have performed the test on the local network, connects normally.

You can see my server? Okay, but can join and play?

If yes, how to add in MasterServer?

EDIT: Just remembering that I opened the door 15300 of MasterServer in the firewall, both UDP and TCP.

Yep, I see your server just fine. So remember to connect to your server using the 192.168.254.100 IP. Players use your external IP.

Okay, the part that I have to connect to the local IP I understood, and in fact is the only way that I can join. And also understand that you viewed, but you can join?

Where did you even get zdoomwarsmaps302.wad ? I can't download from Grandvoid nor Best.Ever.
But I am sure I can join it.

I set up a test server based on the wads of this here: 147.32.30.249:15275, wad found in http://oblacek.sh.cvut.cz/bin/ZDoomWarsMaps302.zip.

Anyway, if you're almost sure you can join, how do I list my server in the MasterServer?

It's already listed in the Master Server if I can see it because I didn't add the server to custom servers. And my sorting goes like this: Players - No response - No players.

Authentification error. Probably you have Doom 2 1.6.

Really do not even know how it got in the MasterServer! But anyway, thank you, now it calms me down.

Now I will try to adjust the server the best possible way.

Well, about connectivity, yes I believe that is solved.

One last question, is there any source where I get some default configuration for servers ZDoomWars?

If Oblacek is good to play on, middle mouse button on the Oblacek ZdoomWars server and copy the DMFlags settings, player number, connection number, timelimit and winlimit.
