Hi, I was watching Doom Eternal, and I got triggered thinking about the music.
In short I think the music should match the intensity of the action on screen.
Can the Zandronum team offer a menu option to switch on dynamic speed music?
What I mean is to connect the music playback speed to the amount of action in the level. Action could be measured by the amount of 'attacks' monster do, more attacks = faster played music.
With no fights happening the music slows down to say 50% speed, and at high intensity it speeds up to say 200%. Maybe change the volume of the music a bit too. I think the feature will enhance the Doom atmosphere in both the quiet and loud parts of the game.
What do you guys think?
Dynamic music speed. - feature request.

Some tracks are already fast. Imagine D_RUNNIN (map01) at 150% tempo.
And i don’t even think it’s within the Zan developers’ control because IIRC fmod handles all aspects of the sound engine.
You could always make your own “dynamic music” mod. ZDoom has always fully supported smooth music changes via impulse-tracker modules.
