Does anyone actually use sv_sharekeys?

It hasn't gone unnoticed by me that in spite of the addition of the sv_sharekeys CVAR in 2.0, people seem to still be using ACS-based solutions e.g. with Complex Doom which currently dominates co-operative game servers. The CVAR was added to make key sharing work with all mods, which doesn't seem to be the case right now?
Does the CVAR actually see use or should we just remove it?
