Launching issue under Ubuntu 20

Hi all
I've got an issue launching Zandronum. I've just installed a fresh install of Ubuntu MATE 20.0.4 LTS as well as a fresh install of doomseeker/zandronum and when i go into doomseeker to launch the game it will just load for a few seconds (i can tell by CPU usage) then it just stops.
Any ideas? I recall my last install with Ubuntu 20.0.4 LTS I had to change the midi as it has issues or something apparently but i can't recall if this was down to no sound or the game not working at all like now and i've completely forgotten how to do it anyway.
