Cannot host zandronum server at all.

#1

Post by whatcorey » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:54 am

Just recently starting playing doom again using zandronum to find out it does not work for me anymore. I have set up the server and had my friend add my ip address to custom server, when I launch it it does not show up for him, all it says is "no response" I have tried using lan, or master server, everything. But nothing works, can anyone help me fix this? I don't remember it having to be so complicated

Probably is better using a IDE or DE Host than DS for hosting servers.

Are you for real? Did you even read the op's post?

whatcorey, what you're describing sounds like a problem with port forwarding. Since your friend added your IP as a custom server, the remaining action that needs to be done should be on your side.

Zandronum Wiki contains help on the topic, however it seems to be down. I'll link you Google cache links:

1. General troubleshooting: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/ ... leshooting+

2. Port forwarding: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/ ... Forwarding+

Also, double check that the IP your friend is using is a public one. Some ISPs will hide you behind a private IP for "your security" which effectively blocks all incoming traffic. If that's the case, call your ISP and ask them to resolve the matter.

Well i think that i have the same problem, it's why i prefer using DE or IDE to host servers... seems that i must know how what your guides are to host a server in DS.
and i have even read the post.

seems that i should think it again 2 times to host a server, anyways.
