Tv won't play sound for BrutalDoom64 when connected with hdmi

I'm new here and pumped to play Brutal Doom 64. I just got a new laptop and want to mirror the laptop to my sony LED tv. I have it connected with an hdmi cable. The tv plays the regular audio from the laptop(music, videos, normal sounds etc) but when I start up Brutal Doom 64, it plays the audio out of the computer speakers and not the tv.
I know the connection is good bc all of the other audio comes out of the tv, so it has to be something with the settings in brutal doom.
Any ideas?
If it helps, the laptop is a ACER Aspire E5-575-33BM.
TV is a XBR-65X810C.
