Hexen CD Music

I'm not sure where else to ask this question in the forum, so basically:

Zandronum fully supports Hexen, but do you have to have the Hexen CD in the drive to utilize its CD music or can you have ogg/mp3/etc in a separate folder within Zandronum to play those tracks?

Quakespasm (for Quake 1) and Yamagi-Quake 2 (for Quake 2) have a feature like this for their respective games to avoid needing the CD always in the drive to hear the music.

I looked in the Zandronum Wiki and there is no mention of this anywhere.

As far as I know, you cannot have Zandronum play music from a separate loaction other than a CD. Therefore, if you want to do so, see this and this if you want to learn how to play them.

The easiest way would be to load the ogg/mp3 files into a wad in your skins folder and rename them appropriately for the levels they play in (if I recall correctly some Hexen CD tracks replace different midis that lack a CD version)

So, that means you could theoretically use an image mounting program (bin/cue files) and point Zdoom at it?

You can simply create your own replacement wad in the skins folder. Use SLADE 3 for that. You can open hexen.wad to see what each original song is named, and import the CD music to a new file, renaming them to match the originals.

If you can't extract the CD tracks, I'm sure there are programs out there to do it.
