Flicker Box bug

I don't know why this is happening, but from complex as hell mods like Brutal Doom, to simple WADS like Drown in Blood, monster sprites, item sprites, hud weapons, even decorations will flicker and become Black or White boxes, eventually, this will lead to Zandronum crashing. This "flicker box" bug seems to happen especially with mods like Brutal Doom and Complex Doom.
EDIT: This bug also affects human players when I'm playing online. On that note, this bug ONLY seems to happen when I'm on a server.
EDIT 2: Something else I should point out, this bug also only seems to be client-side, like, if I joined a server that had Hell Revealed II and Brutal DooM, I'd see the crazy flickering shit, but if I hosted a server with the same mods and megawad, I wouldn't see any trace of the FlickerBox bug.

Let's get this out of the way first:
It sounds like you're using OpenGL mode, what graphics card do you have? What kind is it, integrated (built-in; small chip(s)) or dedicated (removable; has a fan/heatsink)?

My HP Pavillion has a Intel HD Graphics 2500.

Multiplayer tends to eat a LOT more ram, and integrated cards like yours use shared memory - a recipe for memory-related errors.

are you using windows 8.1

To answer ibm, yes, my PC runs Windows 8. Also, I don't see how this could be happening, because I suffer no slowdown or anything from this bug, it's just annoying. Like I mentioned before it will lead to the crash message "Failed to allocate <insert crazy number here> bytes."

because intel didn't make drivers for intel gpus on windows 8.1, so I had this
The [video] tag is deprecated, please use the [media] tag
Nah, intel hd is good enough for zandronum xD

Doesn't matter if it's "good enough" ...just...get rid of Intel HD and get a real card

^This. We need to put this in the FAQ, maybe we'd get a lot less "PLZ HELP ZANDRONUM LOOKS BUGGY AND IS SLOW FOR ME" threads that all get the same answer ...

intel hd isn't slow, also dedicated gpus for notebooks are expencive '-' if not I would be using a better gpu :v

You probably shouldn't be using a notebook for gaming anyways, but that's just my opinion.

That's true, this thing even not being so power it burns to 100°C D:
also he's using a notebook (at least HP Pavillions are notebooks), the chance to change the gpu are low (I wanted an external gpu, but I don't have thunderbolt, usb3.0. Only e-sata '-').
But it still can play simple games like zandronum + mods, l4d2, half life 2, starcraft 2, dota 2,... (and with some times even crysis 2 doing 20-30fps)
EDIT:but mine is a hd3000, it's an "old" gpu, a hd4000 or newer would kick my
gpu ass or even a
gt650m

UPDATE: The bug has done much worse, on a (recently release) WAD entitled... wait was it NOVA: Rebirth, or Hellbound? Whatever, the point is that while traversing one of the levels on a co-op server run by me, the walls and flats began flickering like crazy with various textures, flats, and even sprites from the game, the Flicker\Jitterbug affects me whether I'm client-side, or hosting, it's really starting to piss me off. Recently, I was playing Plutonia II, and most of the walls in the level I was on were pitch black.

thats kinda funny i actualy had that a few times too with textures being displayed incorrectly, howoever it only happened whenever the resolution was changed or if changing from full screen to widnowed mode.
but this hasnt happened for quite some time now tho (i have a i5-3350P with geforce GTX650 GPU)
so my gues is it might be driver related.

FOUND A WORKING SOLUTION: I turned my settings down from MAX. It seems to work without

ing all over the place. Case closed!

Yeah, previous computer that I was complaining from was the problem... aaaaaaaand that OGL is a shit render anyways. Seriously, very incompatible with many many many cards. Incompatibility doesn't always mean that it wouldn't work at all.

Zandronum's OpenGL renderer
should work with any
reasonable card from >= 2004 - no guarantees about performance though.
