Digging this one up from the past, I'm running in to this now as I'm just getting into Zandronum.
In Doom1/2 I set up my right mouse button to move forward. As a bonus, you can activate or "use" anything by just doubleclicking the mouse button as you approach the object you want to use. I suspect you could mash any mouse button twice when approaching a door and a "use" would be issued.
Zandronum doesn't replicate this, and it's an issue if you spent years playing Doom with that control method. The solution above works, but if you tap the mouse button quickly, you end up stopping in your tracks (similar to what the OP described) - the binding seems to only issue the "use" and not the "forward" on that quick double click.
Does anyone else know if there's a fix for this?
Thanks!
