Asking me to register

When I try to join one of the chex servers, even though I have the required wads and pk3s, it says that it can't file with shareware and to register; I have registered on this site, but what am I missing here? Would someone explain to me what I might be missing that prevents server access?

It seems like you need registered (full) Chex version to play on those servers.

What server is it? chex3.wad is supposed to be free.

Any one of the chex servers that have the ChexpackP16-2.pk3 file required; getting the pk3 file to work with it was one thing but now it won't let me into the server at all. the servers all have this sort of IP 50.116.54.28:10669 and it tells me to register, but doesn't specify what

Ahh, there is one server with chex.wad in whole server list, and you must have chosen it :D
chex.wad is the original wad
chex3.wad has all the parts of Chex Quest including one fanmade (am I right?) and it's most commonly used.
You have wrong version of chex.wad, but, it'd be better if you'd just search for server using chex3.wad as IWAD.

Chex Quest 3 is a 2008 computer game which runs on the ZDoom engine.
It was developed by Charles Jacobi, who was the art director and lead artist for Digital Café and worked on the original Chex Quest.
Charles credits Mark Quinn aka "Boingo the Clown" for giving him the motivation to work on Chex Quest again.
The completion of this project by the original author, after failed fan-created attempts and a ten-year wait, was a huge surprise and Chex Quest 3 was well-received, earning one of the 2008 Cacowards.

So it's quite official in that regard.

lololol, why do you need this particular server? Can't you play single player? (I joined said server and played for a while and no one joined, so chances of someone joining you are slim). Why do you yell at people who have no interest in pleasing you outside of being nice?
But OK, especially for you I will make semi-permament EXACT SAME server, but with chex3.wad as iwad. Happy?

I am still getting the same fatal error and don't know what to do anymore, and I did try to join the server you created

Can you paste exactly, what the error is?
BTW, best way of solving this fast would be you getting to zandronum irc, if it's not a problem for you...
