I have to disagree with the SV_MaxPlayers limit, mainly because it seems to be a huge overhead of players being squeezed into maps that is no where designed for even 24 players at a time. To keep the games more balanced, would it be possible to lower the SV_MaxLives to ~16 players and have two game servers for the SNS event?
Not to be crude, but imagine playing doom2.wad with exactly 64 players, its not going to be fun and it'll only be a race to the exit....

In addition, will this event take advantage of the SV_Coop_DamageFactor CVar?
