This is the thread for the Friday Night Fragfest February polls! Suggest stuff here for the February 28th FNF. Suggestions will stay open until Sunday the 16th, and then voting goes from the 16th to Wednesday the 26th (Separate polls for European and American FNFs). On February 28th, we'll play the winners!

Spoiler: Rules (Open)

• Please try to keep the Survival stuff on SNS -- that's what it's for -- unless you have a really good reason. I'll ask to confirm.
• You are welcome to be as vague or specific as you want: if a poll option turns out to be just "Deathmatch," for example, then everyone will have the opportunity to voice what WAD they want along with their vote. You can, however, propose a WAD, gamemode, etc. as part of your suggestion.
• Only ONE suggestion is allowed per person: space in the poll is limited, as are votes!
• Please avoid joke WADs (unless you have a really good reason). For reference, Nutty DM is considered okay, Jupiterian CTF is not.
• Please avoid mods that are generally considered to be "overpopular," e.g. Ghouls vs. Humans and All Out War 2, or that for some other reason would be ill-suited to FNF, e.g. Who Dun It.

I cannot understand for the life of me why someone would want to not run IDL unless it has mods.


Everytime vanilla IDL is run, it gets a ton of people playing and usually ends up lasting the longest out of all the FNF's excluding a few exceptions.

Plus most of the time the FNF team adds a mod, it ends up ruining it completely. IDK if it's done to be unique but I've seen many good wads I want to play utterly ruined by throwing in a tacky mod for *insert-reason-here*. Is it to be unique each week? I don't know, but I attend FNF to frag... and successful wads that generate lots of people is the best way to give this.

If people really want a mod, I'll go make the ZD ssg and extended explosion thrust. I assume that would count?

IDL2013 is one of the most popular WADs ever, and as far as pub CTF goes really the only thing people play(almost daily!). Plain IDL CTF is blacklisted for the same reason mods like Brutal Doom and AoW are: it'd be strange to just run whatever's most popular during the rest of the week for a one-day event. There's also the multitude of gameplay preferences to cater to.

On ZD I agree that would be true (to running it every day), but not on Zandronum. There's almost never a pub.

I'm surprised they blacklisted it. Can any FNF staff verify if this is true? This seems like a logic error. What other wads are blacklisted? Hopefully not Dynamite DM....

We HAVE run the wad with modifications, but never plain(like what's played on funcrusher). I was under the impression that plain no frills idl ctf was blacklisted and it really should be. There's a lot of other CTF wads out there which we DO run without mods.
