FNF #171: ZDCTF+BSides and 32in24-8 ClassicLMS

#1

Hey, here's something old: the ZDCTF B-sides! I honestly don't know if that term exists outside museums anymore, but they are maps that for whatever reason didn't make the cut for ZDCTF. A few of them are still worth a romp, though. Of course they're packed to be played alongside ZDCTF, so that's what we'll do. American is Classic LMS -- Doom weapons with altered armor and ammo counts for better balance -- on the maps of 32in24-8: blatant ripoffs of Doom 1 and 2 levels!

Found this presentation of B-sides to be a huge disappointment.

Only 6 of the maps used, versus 24 of the regular ones? Didn't even pick some of the better maps for the list!
And all shuffled up in a random rotation, so you couldn't predict when one of the B maps would be on :(

This was my disappointment as well. Later I felt pity for not having b-sides alone, as they have enough maps to play the main role and I know from previous experience they're playable and fun. But the reason was said to be fear from no-shows which are especially common on Euro FNF that an unwritten rule is to basically only run known stuff in there. People despise experiments period.
With b-sides only serving as a little support pack for zdctf, that FNF was successful.
