Few things while I'm still awake.
RE: Slugfest maps
I think what's most optimal here is trying to reduce the amount of slugfest maps present in the tournament. 6 maps total feels too small, so next time I may just run 8 maps, the middle ground.
RE: Single groups
Yes I agree, it occurred to Decay and I that grouping both div 1and both div2 would've been better for each respective div, it proved to work in div 2 but it was far too late to make any changes to both div1s, it also didn't help at the time many of the teams were already finished with their matches or close to it.
RE: Tournament wad
The idea of making just a tournament wad against the pack is counter-productive, as it means each time I run a tournament, I have to make a new wad each and every single time. The idea of the pack, or all packs in general, is for them to be a compilation of maps for either general or tournament play. Why would I make this pack which is geared towards tournament play, then make it AGAIN for a tournament I run soon? The logic makes little sense, and at the same time, I posted the maplist on the forums, Decay had it on discord, and I would paste it in the MOTD of the main TSPG server. If there is some struggle to find out what maps are in the tournament, it's not my problem. We did everything to make the list accessible in more than one form, and I didn't want to create a maplist inside the server because there were instances where people wanted to play non-tournament maps for practice or warming up, which is perfectly fine for me. It's not like the hub was completely out of wack, there were signs letting you know what was inside the tele room before you entered it, so it just doesn't seem practical to me.
Jumping is disabled on maps that were not made for it, while it is enabled for maps that were made with it in mind. In terms of the pack, only the DBAB maps had jumping. The lack of knowledge about this comes from the fact that I never properly announced it, and it was only documented on my side before version 1H/I. This will be a constant ongoing thing, considering there is no reason to restrict maps that were made for jumping, and the same goes for allowing jump on maps that weren't meant for jumping. Since soon we will see an influx of new school maps that have jumping, it only makes more sense just to keep it as is, especially if we see new content where jumping was in mind.
I appreciate the feedback though, it lets me know what players were thinking and it allows me to clarify why and how. Sometimes you just need a bit flexibility, but some of it is due to me not properly announcing things about the pack. Next tournament will come after I get the next version up, which I plan on working up a maplist of things to add into the pack through this week. I already have a small list of things I need to do outside of adding maps so this time around there should be more maps in the pack in general, and new maps in the tournament, everyone wins!
