Can't see my server?

Okay, I've been having this problem ever since I first tried getting servers to work back on Skulltag; no matter how often I try to make a server using Doomseekers "Create server" function, even after port forwarding and all that jazz, (which for all I know I've done it wrong) it never appears on the list of servers for my friends to join. I have looked for the longest time to try and find any kind of tutorial to show me some step that I'm missing or something that I'm doing wrong, but I've never been able to find one, and all of the links on the window that opens for the server that could lead to any resemblance of help are dead. I also tried asking a friend what he does to get it running, who said that it was, in his words, "Luck". So now that I'm pretty much completely out of options, I turn to these forums. Is there any tutorial out there that can help me get my server to appear?

Open your ports

Well, I've spent some time making sure that I have my ports opened and it still is being stubborn, so either I'm doing it wrong or something else is the issue.

Nope, still nothing... Does having a mediocre internet provider affect if the server appears or not? (I wouldn't think it would but I wouldn't really know)

EDIT: I think that it might have something to do with ports being closed still after all because this still says it's closed. I'll check and see if I can't fix this problem somehow.

If your computer is blocking it (ie Firewall) then it's not even getting to the router to be blocked by it.

I used to have tons of problems running servers, on doomseeker and doom connector. It seems to work fine on IDE (although someone on my same network can't see it) Get your IP and put it in the address, then you can configure UDP port range (I only say it because sometimes it requires specific port forwarding for your router, rather than these general ones, also it will have lots of info about what's going through your router so you can work out whats wrong), having said that I don't know that your router/ISP will have it's own control panel, but yeah, thats what worked for me.

Okay, I've made sure the firewall isn't blocking it, (Which it wasn't before but it's always good to double check) and I've switched over to using IDE, and now I've actually gotten the server to show up. At least, I know it's mine because the servers IP is the same as mine, but other than that all of the other boxes are blank. I see a lot of other servers like this, usually at the bottom of the list of servers. What's possibly the problem here now?

What other boxes? usually you can't join via the server start client or RCON (well I can't) but you can join from the list, try adding bots and see if they show up.

This is a clear indication that software of some kind (firewall, router software blocking ports) is blocking the master from retrieving information from your server.

What I would try to do in your situation is change the port Zandronum is using, and port forward a different port. I had a case a while back where the ISP itself was blocking ports 10500-11000.

Okay, I've discovered part of the potential problem now: the port number keeps changing on my server, and I'm not sure why. I've checked both the firewall and the router for their settings and I don't see anything that could be causing this. (But, once again, I could of overlooked something as this type of thing isn't exactly my forte) Any idea what the problem could be now?

(Also I feel it necessary to mention I already have the IP Address set to static)
