Extra pause menu button on options

I'd like to request the Zandronum people to please add an extra pause menu button in the Options menu so that people who use controllers and such doesn't need to press ESC to pause any longer. So you'd go to the options menu, set Pause to Start on the 360 controller for example and voala.

Or you could use XPadder or another controller software and simply remap that button's input to an "Esc" keypress.

Couldn't you do "bind <key> pause" in the console?

I have nothing to add to this thread other than the replies made me laugh.

Oh yeah, I could do that, but I'd rather have a menu option in the configure keys settings. I can already see that the support here doesn't really want to do anything so I guess I'll have to do things myself... *sigh*

I'll see if there's a way that I can personally make it a bindable key in the configuration menu and release it as an addon to be compatible with engines that do support this (ZDoom, GZDoom, GZ3Doom, Skulltag (outdated but whatever just to mention as example), Zandronum, etc...)

Don't get me wrong, I also find it funny people think that they can help this way. The quick way isn't always the most favorable route, sometimes you need to take the long way.

Are you really serious? You suggest me that garbage excuse for a program?? Even binding the keys manually all the time like an idiot seems like the best option of all time compared to this. I bet you never used XPadder once, playing that program is impossible due to the bogus sensitivity.

Right, so you know how to solve your problem but you'd like to suggest an addition to the menu. I suggest you do that at the appropriate place, which is the tracker: http://zandronum.com/tracker/

Alternatively you coul suggest the same thing to be added in the Zandronum Community Client: http://zandronum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6050

I'm sorry but we non-developers are not obliged to make changes to the engine for you because of your simple controller issue. If you really want an in-depth fix you can post to the development tracker or compile your own Zandro build and maybe the devs will include your fix.

You should be glad that people here are at least willing to help you. We're just posting suggestions based on our past experiences. If you're just gonna be demanding, nobody is going to want to help you.

Fuck off. See how much help you get in the future with that kind of attitude. And yes I have used XPadder and similar programs (including a custom build of DS3 tool for PS3 controller). The only reason I suggested it was because it was a simple fix that i've used in the past and it worked. Forgive me Master, for not meeting 100% of your needs!
