Complex doom and HEM

I never found any official post or page for Complex Doom, and it seems like no one has ever talked about the HEM addon on the internet. Nevertheless, lots of BE servers are hosted with that mod and people play it all the time. What's the deal with this? Where do most of the HEM monsters come from? I notice some of them are recolours from Realm667's repository. Are the monsters free to be used in projects?

Hmm no, it can be HEM or LCA addon, people prefer to play the original complex doom which is already hard enough, so it become boring quickly.
The problem with these addons is that they bring stronger monsters killing the fine gameplay/balance of complex doom, so for me they are only for fun or challenges.
The one who made this project is afrit, monsters from R667 are always free to be used you just have to put the credits, and of course you can edit them like the recoloration in that mode which are pretty good.

Don't worry Smash, it was made for sadistic masochists (sadly the newer versions have been sissified down to compensate for the bads) who enjoy (sometimes!) a bunch of repeats (which is where most of the fun comes from cuz random spawners) before winning. You are not the only one the mod manhandles. ^_^
It is balanced in its own way, too hard if not impossible to explain how. And that is not coming from just my mouth, a bunch of its regular players (that is, the ones who actually play daily, there are a bunch) agree as does it's Zan review.
HEM is a whole other thing though and not in a good way either, same with LCA. I implore you all to avoid them like the plague.

I'm pretty sure they are all mixes of R667 with terribad recolours, they are likely free to use also though you will have to ask Harbinger for HEM and Legendary for LCA first. I'm sure they can be both found in #zandronum now and again.

Of course I prefer the original Complex, in fact I hated HEM until it's last version, which brought a rebalance. I only play it for fun.
EDIT: there are some HEM models that are pretty nice, like the Paladin noble and the Salamander Imp

You have to admit the Legendary Rifle is something it has to undeniably be added to the official mod.

In HEM, there is a sprite set called "Doom cas" or "Doom cast", I assume the full name would be Doom Caster. It's a pretty looking archon of hell with purple on his chest, but it has no decorate. Does somebody know where I can get it?
