Honestly nobody wants to play on these god damn ISP WEBA servers and stuffing bots in servers that nobody wants to play on only causes legitimate servers harder to find. I'm sure that nobody enjoys looking at 20 servers at the top of the server list with 1-2 bots that nobody will ever play.

I'm actually inclined to agree with this thread. Do we really need this? It's garbage to be frank.

You can blacklist servers with bots in IDE's filters.
You can also stop servers sorting with the "Players" column if it only has bots in Doomseeker.

I'm looking at DoomSeeker and I see about 3 of these right now.

The ISP servers need to be banned, about a week ago they went on a trolling spree and started flooding the master server with bot servers (32 players, and in between to annoy regular players)

Even though you can filter out the servers, if they are doing it to troll with 10 servers with 32 bots, then I'd have to agree.

There are always going to be players who don't know how to blacklist servers yourself. Having it done on the server would save a lot of people time, and would offer a more pleasurable experience browsing the master server.

Definitely agreed with this, there's no reason for those servers to be shown and it'll save a lot of people some hassle.

Didn't there used to be a rule against this anyways? "Do not spam bots just to bump your server to the top" or something like that?

I mean, servers with 1 or 2 bots is fine. But there's no excuse for packing a server with 16 bots just to "advertise" something. That's just obnoxious.

Everyone has the right to host their own servers in here. Those who don't follow the rules, they get banned, that's all sorted out, but I'd like to discusss about blacklisting servers with 1 - 2 bots:

First, they're not breaking any rules. Second, you don't know if someone will actually check those servers out, which wouldn't be the case if they get blacklisted. Third, you can sort by player count and ping, and all the played server will be on top, and servers like that will be on bottom. Fourth, you can just blacklist them. If you don't know how, ask.

As you can see, empty servers with 1 - 2 bots aren't the only ones making "legitimate" servers harder to find. However, if you sort them in the right way, you might find some "legitimate" servers where you ping nicely. How do I know it's "legitimate" ? Well, the most played servers are /supposed/ to be "legitimate", but this way you can also see all servers that have at least one player. You might find a nice one. If that doesn't cut it for you, then:

As you can see, you can use the almighty search feature. If the "legitimate" servers don't appear right at the top, you're going to have to do that terrible work of pulling that scroll bar down. Well, life sucks.

lol. A bot in invasion ? They are pretty dumb, surprisingly they run Ultimate Super Doom 3 but name is just "co-op"

And yeh you could just Ctrl+F in Doomseeker

how about just having the "Bots are not players" option be on by default in doomseeker

(no clue what it's like in IDE-land tho)
