What do you normally use against the varying enemies?

I tend to use SSG for everything. If I'm not, well, continue reading.

Plasmarifle for everything my SSG can't take out with 1-2 hits, excluding revs.
Mainly in an oshit environment, or I'm too lazy/rushed to switch it out due to danger

Rockets are the same in a lesser way. Depends if I'm in a close quarters environment

bullets and shells for the tiny baby imps and zombies

Cells or rockets for the Cyber or 'mind. Shells if I run out and I know they're low.

What about you?

Plasma Rifle. Or Shotgun to not hear DSDSHTGN.wav over and over.

SSG only if totally nessacary to conserve cells.
EDIT: Or just to combat Knights, Barons, and Mancubi when nothing greater is available.

Rockets are also for accurate, hard hitting projectiles and take out Demon gang-ups and Barons quickly.
EDIT: Or to punch holes in hordes of anything weaker than a Baron.

Chaingun because Zombies and sniping.

Chainsaw or berserked fist for single zombies, single imps, or pinky demons.
Pistol for groups of 2 or 3 zombiemen.
Shotgun for small groups of shotgunners, or against chaingunners.
Super Shotgun for hell knights and revenants, as well as large groups of non-pistol zombies
Chaingun for mowing down large groups of any zombies and against small groups of imps.
Rocket Launcher for large groups of imps, small groups of revenants, and archviles
Plasma Gun for tanky enemies such as fatsos, arachnotrons, etc.
BFG for large groups of revenants, barons, hell knights, fatsos, arachnotrons, and archviles, and against bosses

I fist everything.

Infight.

The only thing manlier than fisting everything.

Every weapon besides ssg, rockets, and bfg is shit.

kill monsters

Anyway:
Bullets for high pain state monsters.
Shells for solo or groups of shotgun guys/pinkies
Rockets for bigger groups of Knights/Barons
And Cells for the obvious reasons. Plasma sniping stuck cybers/masterminds and one-shotting them with bfg.

In all seriousness, I find myself using the SSG damn near all the time, given how damn near versatile it is in medium-close range. But when I need to snipe, I either use the chaingun, plasma rifle or rockets, depending on the distance/environment around the target. If I need to spam or take out a group, bfg/plasma rifle/rockets in that order.

I use plasma against everything that I can circle around and SSG against everything else.

Devastator that rape everything :)

Chainsaw against hilarious demon/spectre hordes, lost souls, nearly anything with sufficiently high painchance when low on ammo.
Fist in all of the above when chainsaw is not available, otherwise never.
Chaingun against zombiemen and shotgunners, + against anything at extreme range that isn't an archvile.
Pistol in all of the above when chaingun is not available, otherwise never.
Shotgun against solo imps/chaingunners
Rocket Launcher againt large groups of enemies, against solo enemies that need to go down this instant and are not cyberdemons/masterminds, against pretty much everything providing my reserves of rockets exceed 40.
BFG9000 against cyberdemons, masterminds, against any enemy that needs to go down this instant and RL is not an option, against pretty much everything providing my reserves of cells exceed 400.
Plasma rifle in all of the above providing BFG is not available, otherwise never.

I tend use the weapon I have more ammo for (unless it respawns), but I agree some weapons are better in certain situations.

Fist: when I need to save ammo. Small groups of pinkies if berserked.
Chainsaw: The same as fists, but preffered if fists aren't berserked (except against lost souls).
Pistol: when I don't have any other ranged weapon available, or long ranged attacks against <500 HP monsters if I don't have a chaingun.
Shotgun: Zombies or imps.
SSG: Bigger groups of zombies or imps, or anything stronger at close range.
Chaingun: Long ranged attacks, anything <500 HP.
Rocket launcher: Against groups or anything >100 HP, or JUST FOR RISKY FUN! =P
Plasma rifle: Medium ranged attacks. Some ammo should be saved if a BFG is available.
BFG: If I need to kill things really fast (IE: Archviles without cover).

SSG (or shotgun) for everything combined with chaingun tapping for murdering the shit out of pesky enemies/zombies quickly.

Everything else is much more situational.

SSG: pretty much on everything that isnt a boss, unless i dont have a BFG on hand.

other weapons are pretty much irrelevant to me unles the situation calls for it, ie running out of shells.

Rocket Launcher until I run out of ammo. SSG if tiny areas and chaingun if stupidly placed bosses.

Nothing's more satisfying than wiping out a hallway of zombiemen with one SSG shot.
