Levelmaster by Cutmanmike, would you play it?

I really liked this wad, I don't know if it's still around even, but the concept behind it was really fun. The main problem is that it was limited to a set amount of spawns which caused it to not work (IIRC) for more than 4 players. Since Zandronum I believe has fixed this since then... if it was patched up, would anyone be interested in playing the mod? I was thinking of tuning it up for 64 player mayhem.

How it works (for those who haven't played it before)
Everyone is blinded at the start and one of the players is selected as the level master. The level master must place a gem somewhere in the map that the players have to seek out. The level master is given points which can spawn monsters in the map to further make it difficult. The winner is when everyone dies but the level master, or the gem is reached by a player.

I do remember playing this and it was good fun. If you can patch it to allow 64 players I would probably try and make it a SunS event.

Please, do that! I had lots of fun playing that mod when it first came out. I wonder if there is room for some bonus (and optional, preferably) mechanics to spice the mod up. :3

Like year ago I even PMed CutmanMike on his megaman forums (bleh) about trying to redo Level Master someday. He was like "Oh yeah sure, I even wanted to do that someday." But seems like he forgot about it anyway, and I damn loved that mod.

But...

Bear in mind that this thing is breaking up online since like late st97 times. Also, it is only made to handle 4 people. (It wasn't breaking only because of that...) Someone should rework it ASAP. I'd be really glad if it happened.

Oh god, level master... so much nostalgia, too bad it wasn't played too often. I really miss it. If needed, I can help with reworking this awesome mod!

Ah this was great fun but I started bloating it with features which really made it frustrating for players (such as the chain traps that could freeze you in place). With the new zandronum features such as unblocking players, it wouldn't need to worry about trying to detect when players are telefragging each other etc and could easily have up to the maximum number of players (although with 63 marines running around the level master would have his work cut out for him).

I might take another look at this now I've had some experience messing with more co-op survival stuff.

Edit: I think I'll hold off until it's possible to get around the annoying Survival countdown timer (I think there's already a support ticket about this) as I don't want to have to dance around it with hacks or delays.

Do you have a link to that ticket at hand?

Thanks! Can you leave a note in there what you need this for? The reason why the original poster made this request was taken care of, so I assumed there was no demand for it anymore.

There is definitely demand for this sort of thing, or access to gamemode states in general ( http://zandronum.com/tracker/view.php?id=1361 ). It's extremely annoying not having any idea if the game has actually started or not, especially when you're dealing with global variables.

Sounds pretty nice for slightly big maps. I certainly would give it a go with alot of players in it.
