things you hate in maps

I've always been fascinated by mappers and their work (perhaps because I've failed miserably each and every time I attempt to emulate them) but there are some things I just can't stand:
1. crate mazes
2. lenghty maps with really long key-hunts (for me this covers just about anything bigger than the original Doom's standard level-lenght, but SPECIALLY for things like Eternal Doom)
3. non-logical trap/enemy placement... I mean, if this was a regular human-ran military base or what have you, it doesn't make any sense to have pits of acid goo over a collapsing bridge sorrounded by doors that conceal tiny one-man-only rooms perfect for someone to snipe at you on the way to the only exit from the area
what about you guys?

BFGs in deathmatch maps, seriously fuck those things they often ruin completely fine maps and its saddening.

That, the bfg in dm, duel and lms, maybe in ctf oh and the megasphere, people like to camp there

yea its the camp value of those items/weapons that makes them so annoying, not to mention the imense spam that comes from the BFG.

I hate when an annoying monster (usually revenant or chinagunner) is placed in a place where it is difficult or impossible to shoot. Especially annoying when it is an area which you can't quickly run-through.
May sound like nothing, but it is really annoying. And every megawad I know has at least one place like that (Plutonia goes crazy with it).

When there are not enough BFGs and power-ups in one map. Also annoying monsters placed in annoying and hard to reach places.

I hate it when mappers:
-mix hell and techno textures.
-make something that is barely jumpable and then raise it by 1 so it's completely unjumpable, yet still looks jumpable
-put imps in places that are hard to hit with sg/ssg/chaingun/anything with spread. Especially when they are put on canyons .

When it uses low ceilings. Dude, you don't have to pay rent for cubic meters, you can afford a ceiling taller than 57.
Terrible textures. Goddamn. Ashwall. (it's only bad if you're in a corridor of some kind though). Eyefucking lightning. Unless you're Terry, please don't do it. If you're Terry, please know, that I am praying for your soul every day. Don't worry. Your soul will be saved.
About more gameplay than aesthetic level, I dislike when monsters are located pretty randomly. When I'm playing I like to feel that the creator used layout to help monsters (barons in small corridors, lost souls when you're expected to use RL, chaingunners suddenly behind you) or to disadvantage them (space to circlestrafe a big hoard of barons/cybs, thoughtful traps in which you can shoot but not be shot easily etc). I prefer ugly map doing these than a state of art map, that looks beautiful, but doesn't tease you.

Maps that pistol-start you in a room filled with high-tier enemies like Revenants, Arch-Viles, or a Cyberdemon (with a thousand fucking Revenants to top it off in MAP01, I'm looking at you, Chillax!).

This doesn't bother me as long as the map has many walls to hide behind. One good SSG Blast will take a BFG Spammer out easily after he's wasted it on a nearby wall that you've taken cover with.
