I wanted to know this for some time. Post your first map you ever made in DoomBuilder/DeepSea/whatever builder here.
When posting, either provide:
-a video
under spoiler (with link if you like)
-a link WITH screenshots
-just screenshots, but only if you dont have it anymore
-If you dont have any of these, and you still know how it was, you can just post text explaining how it was.
Also, please only post levels with real gameplay, and not "tests" as in, few lines with actors to try out the controlls.
Here is my first map as a full level. As said in the title, its My First Doom Map After 8 years. I immediatley tried out scripting, thats why i have a sh*tload of prints :P (yeah back when ibm helped me with all this, good times)
I started on a second map... but that didnt come further then 1 minute of gameplay.
Spoiler: Dont expect some born-for-mapping map... (Open)The [video] tag is deprecated, please use the [media] tag

My first 50 maps were total shit. Narrow corridors crammed with imps, interspersed with big rooms filled with hard monsters. And every map had a Romero head instead of an exit switch. If I still had the wads, I would post them. But that was 9 years ago and I've gone through many computers since then. And I didn't have a reason to hold on to my old mapping atrocities so i didn't back them up anywhere.
I gradually improved my skills over time, though. Just takes patience and lots of practice.

My first maps ended with john romero's head because I didn't know how to make exits.

My first maps had a lot of 640x640 rooms with STARTAN2 and other starting textures as that's what the tutorials did. I connected them with ill-functioning doors and strangely placed nukage everywhere. I accidentally ended up deleting it by saving a second map (MAP02) or the original MAP01, because I didn't know how to compile. Just as well, it was pretty poor :p

My first map was some indoor cave like environment DM match with BFG9ks everywhere, it was fun with bots, so I named it spam match.
The wad is pretty much lost in space now though.

I tried to make my first map for jumpmaze, but I had to erase it completely when I accidentally sloped whole floor and had no idea how to fix it.... ... ... I-I'm better now, I p-promise ;_;

Our first map is not something that we hide in a golden box just to see it many years later. People usually delete it after a few weeks.

Who knows. I still have it, even the ones of 8 years ago, on my very pc. Not that they make sence. I remember having one where you shoot a barrel, die, and after a while you win the level because the chain reaction kills romero.
If i was at that pc i would show it.

Pretty much what Guardsoul said. I would show my first map... if i had it. The oldest wad i have (which is mine) dates back two weeks ago.

The oldest map I remember I made was when I had just started, it was a 128x128 room where you spawned, a door and an ugly room that got a high andlow ground (no 3D floors), "designed for DM", but I didn't know how to spawn bots, lel. The map was all startan, I think the door was too. (map was never really finished either, lel)

I'm glad I saved it. Made it right after I installed DB for a first time. Just a DM map. [spoiler]

Mine was a giant room with 3 sectors, they all had f_sky1 as the ceiling, the walls were all STARTAN3, and the floors were GRASS1. Bridging both sides was a 3D Floor suspended over a moat of 3D Water. This map was for Doom Legacy, and made with DoomCAD on Windows 98. This was back in 2002.
I think I may still have a copy somewhere.

My first maps looked a lot like Ammar trying to make a door.

It took me an hour to understand doors
an hour for 3d floors
an whole afternoon how to make teleports
quarter how to print text (with the help of ibm after a quarter, lol)
2 hours to understand the reason why the actors didnt pop up was because the difficulty to spawn it on wasnt selected.
Now i just cannot believe i didnt know how to do various things...
