Zandronum

Hi,
today i got banned from grandvoid by simply misreading some words. ForrestmarkX had a small problem relating to Zombie Horde, and i misreaded it as "does some know how to evade the 10 minute ban in zombie Horde", while it was "someone is constantly evading the 10 minute ban in Zombie Horde". Ernexis, a grandvoid admin, came to ask who did it.
Because of that mistake i made, i said that there wasnt anyone relating to it, causing him to react angry to me. Just after noticing the mistake and apoligicing, he banned me from #grandvoid with no reason.

He wont talk to me either. I know admins can ban you for no reason, but... why ban me?

No there isnt. The last conflict i had with ernexis, or just grandvoid, was 5 months ago, which was because i cheated in zombie horde. Got solved eitherway.

But I believe this is a rule for everyone who is reading this:
If youre banned from someones channel on zandro irc, that is the op's wishes and there's nothing you can do. Posting here probably won't solve anything (but is a great way to bring attention to it if you desire that)

For future reference:

If you ever get banned on an IRC channel other than #zandronum or #zamapping, there's nothing to be gained from making a forum thread about it. You'd be better off PM'ing the OP of that channel and discussing it privately.

As for this limit of the ban, does this stay perma?
I find it alright if this stays for a week or so, but perma is straight dumb.
I doubt its not against the rules either.

Why? It's not like those of us reading this thread can do anything about it. Do you want us to create a petition to the chan-op to unban you from an IRC channel?

No, it's not against the IRC network rules for a channel op to ban you from their channel for whatever reason they want (whether it's a stupid reason or a good one), just like it's not against the rules for someone to ban you from their server for whatever reason they please (stupid or good). It's their domain, and therefore they have control. For better or worse.


What you CAN do is appeal to the chan ops of that channel OTHER than the guy who banned you, and ask them to lift your ban. That might work.

... Also, is chatting in #grandvoid really that important?

It wasn't really obvious from reading your reply that that's what happened. You just said that he was re-banned. :p

Oh, whoops. Well that's what happened not exactly what happened (he didn't actually PM me specifically), but that's effectively where we are now.
