What do you think about Doom's future ? I'm just curious.
Do you think in 10-15 years people would still be playing Doom ?

It depends on whether or not the community stays dedicated to continue playing Doom and modding for it. Also, with Doom 4 in development, it will introduce the Doom series to a new generation of gamers. If the game is good (It damn well better be) to generate enough interest, players will become more interested in past titles and the community may grow. The future is uncertain, but the fact that Doom has survived this long with such a large community and continued mod support, I'm sure the classic Doom games will still keep it's own playerbase.

Can't wait to play Doom on new computers 15 years from now. Hopefully Zandronum will still exist.

It will die off when I do. That's all you need ponder for now.

Well currently it's mods that's keeping doom alive, at least on Zandro. So if people keep modding we should be good to go.

Only if we transmit by generations (aka to our sons, grandsons etc.).
As in we show them this game at a fragile age.

Nah, I know a lot of people who play classic-style Doom with just basic newschool options like freelook.
I mean, even without mods many would stay. It's a pretty cool game after all.

If I ever make enough money, I will build a giant mansion or something like that, and it shall resemble doom and there shall be statues all over the place showing off good old style doom and new modded doom in same building to anyfag who dare visit a crazy fucktard, that would kill them if they annoy him, a big house can hold many traps, so they will think "what did he say about deathrun?" before they die hehe.

On to realistic thinking:
I will teach my children about doom (if I ever get any)
I will teach my brothers children about doom.
I will teach all those who come muthafuckin' after me, they will not leave from my vincity without know WTF doom it.
I will let everyone know doom all the time till someone kills me.

But yeah, I don't see Doom dying anytime soon to be quite honest. It just can't, not with all this.

There is no Doom Half, so I think he meant 'Doom 1 or Doom 2'

Otherwise it might attract people to this 'supposed to be cool' Doom 4.

If Doom 4 will be as good as they say it will be, it might 1: attract people to play Doom 1 or 2, 2:attract people from Zandobando and co. to play Doom 4.

Doom probably isn't going to die in the next few years coming.

Why would you be worried about Doom4 "taking" Zandro players? If anything they'll just play both.

Also yea, I too wish to see Doom 4 already.

My guess is that Doom 4 might be revealed this December. It was said from either iD or Bethesda that Doom 4 should be as big as Skyrim, and that with RAGE they made the mistake of announcing it too early. So they might follow in Skyrim's footsteps and announce it at the next VGA awards this December.

Not to mention it's perfect timing for a reveal, since the 20th anniversary of Doom is on December 10th this year. And John Romero is supposed to play SNS this December.
