Doom Builder 2 problems...

Woe is me, I can't do 3D mode in Doom Builder 2, but I remember it working the last time I was on a Doom mapping craze about six months ago... I'm not sure what happened.

I can do anything in Doom Builder except 3D mode. Every time I press W, the program just crashes. There aren't any error messages, it just closes instantly. I've downloaded .NET 4, the newest SlimDX whatever I could get (Jan 2012), and I've reinstalled DB2 half a dozen times.

I'm really not sure what to do. Any ideas/explanations?

Try GZDoom Builder.

Also doesn't work.

EDIT: I should be more clear - it also crashes when I start 3D mode.

what is your video card? you said that it worked ~ 6 months ago, maybe did you installed something (driver, app, etc) or maybe its the version of doombuilder (i dont think that but IDK) did you upgraded it (SVN)?

It's a GeForce GT 430, and I'm fairly certain I didn't install any drivers or anything. And what do you mean by upgrading?

yeah ur target is good (i have and 520, ur one is a bit better) and i thought u was using an SVN or something so, its weird since i can use GZdoombuilder without any problem, have you modified the nvidia control panel?

I haven't touched a thing. This is driving me crazy though. 3D mode can't be that taxing on my computer since I can play Doom (Zandronum and GZDoom and the like), and I play other games like Warframe and Skyrim and junk.

I just don't get what the problem is. I've googled it, and like 2 other people have had similar problems, but it was never really resolved in the thread.
BY THE POWER OF GREY SKULL I'VE FIXED IT!

Or rather... I got the most recent SVN build. I'm not sure what made the difference, but if anyone else is having trouble with Doom Builder 2, check out this link:

nice you solved it, maybe there was something wrong with ur old doombuilder 2, anyway try Gzdoombuilder, is not only for "gZDoom maps" as almost all think, it fix and add a lot of new things, ofc if you can

Just a note even though this is solved:
Be warned using GZDoom Builder, for some people it will turn all your lumps that make up your map into garbage.
I personally tried that it randomly crashed and made a verticle x and y into nan value, so I had to manually change the value in my TEXTMAP lump :S

Are you still able to reproduce this plausible bug within the current revisions (~1570)?

erm, you need to press e to move forward, not w right? i think w was auto-align, which i guess can crash if your unlucky.

Wat.

No, W toggles 3D mode. I still have no idea what was wrong with it, but I no longer care since the latest SVN build works fine.

The error I had is kind of unpredictable, it was a combination of lag (only in the program for some reason) because I had a few thausand vertexes and corresponding number of lines and sectors. Then it lagged while I was placing a new verticle, I think the lag made the mouse go out of bounds and the values then naturally would turn out of bounds as well?

I do not intend to test this further though, as I do not want to risk a few days of constant Work. (damn I got to turn off autocorrecting and shit on this new computer -.-)

Using the latest SVN build (provided by DRDTeam) and using a duplicate PWAD file (that is large - going by the information you provided), can you still reproduce this strange bug? If yes, please upload the file (to any source you wish, as long as it's reliable) and post the link in your retort. Or - alternatively - you can post the issue and the file on this topic.

I might sound like an asshole, but I do not want to bother placing loads of verticles just hoping for my program to crash so I can brag about wasting a few hours of my life without actualy getting anything done with it -.-

When I am finished with the map I can upload it and you can try placing verticles on it yourself if you want to
