Really? This was the first and only time that I had a Revenant missile go in a circle infinitely like this.

I had a Video where there was at least 3 or 4 going in a Circle, and another where the Blood Demons in Hard-Doom would just chomp at invisible walls or whateva. Sadly though, I got rid of them when I took a week off raging over Certain Events. It's fun to watch, but after awhile its like Meh.

Yep. If you dodge missiles a lot, it's bound to happen once in a while.

Or if you die while it's chasing you, there's a very small chance that it will orbit your corpse. But that's probably a different cause.
What's probably causing it in the video is the fact that the missile is only allowed to turn a certain number of degrees per A_Tracer call. Even if it passes extremely close by you, it still has to wait til the next A_Tracer call to adjust its angle, which doesn't turn it enough to face you, so the cycle repeats.
This is a very old behavior, too. I doubt it's a Zandronum bug.

I hate when this happens in Co-op. It's sometimes hard to dispose of them without hitting a teammate, or vice-versa. :(

It's arguably one of the most consistent traits of Doom.

I might be wrong, but that seems a Magic Circle against Evil to me.

This is a well documented behavior.

Now try to orbit projectiles of other monsters with homing (seeker) traits... most easily is probably the mage boss from hexen -they nearly orbit all time if you dodge.. too bad he'll shoot again to stop your fun-... hmm dunno if its possible to orbit bishop projectiles
