Try my Hell Rising abandoned project (ego, ego , ego :P): http://zandronum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1646
Only contains 4 maps but I think that you can kill around 1 - 2 hours.

Others are Stronghold, KDiZD, Whispers of Satan, Demon Eclipse...

Hell Rising is abandoned?
Well that's not good news i was meant to make a map for this.

As for single player mod suggestions, I would highly recommend playing Winter's Fury, Putrefier, The Refinery, ZPack, ZDCMP1 and ZDCMP2 when the rc2 is out at least, as well as the ones that guard suggested. (BTW Some of these are not compatible with Zandronum)
<agaures> I'm guessing you haven't played many doom mods before huh? :p
<Zuplin> i have played master of puppets zombies doom center and a couple more
<agaures> so not many
<Zuplin> i thought that was everything

Winter's Fury, definitely.
Also Speed of Doom would be my personal choice, but just Winter's Fury.

this might be sorta obvious, but if your looking to kill some time check out Hell Revealed. if you beat that before your modem issues are solved...get a new modem

y'know when you get bored with the usual maps, you could try timing speed-runs on them
