Hello everyone! I am Albierio! I am a Vietnamese American who is working for his CompTIA A+ Certification while still in high school. I've been playing DOOM for as long as I can remember I am a very huge DOOM enthusiast. About a year ago, my experience has been quadrupled by the ultimate gibfest known as Brutal DOOM, what an incredible mod!
Anyways, I have a question about Zandronum, and I'm a noob at this stuff so I'm sorta ready for anyone's rage (Not really). I've recently downloaded all the Community Chest maps and also exported the No Rest For The Living (NERVE.WAD) from BFG edition, to Zandronum to give it a shot with Brutal and what I noticed was that
1. The DOOM II music still plays and not music intended for the maps. For example on Map01 : The Earth Base in NERVE.wad should play "Message for the Archvile but it still plays "Running From Evil"
2. When I open up the in-game map, I see the Vanilla DOOM II map names, like instead of Map01 : Pistol Panic, I still see Map01 : Entryway instead.
3. The Text Screens still have all dialogue from DOOM II.
So how can I fix this? I heard about limit removing or something? I'm still pretty noobish when it comes down to the heart and brain of DOOM.
Many thanks, please welcome me and happy fragging!

Yep, still doesn't work :IDecay wrote: Did you try not using brutal "doom"?

The errors stem from the BFG's interpretation of NERVE.wad.
It automatically re-arranges the songs and changes the map names, but since none of that data is included in NERVE.wad, Zandronum assumes no changes and just loads the maps normally.
To get it to happen as it does in the BFG Edition, you would have to make a MAPINFO lump for Zandronum.

Well, I'm not loading everything at once, I have different folders for each.Llewellyn wrote: The errors stem from the BFG's interpretation of NERVE.wad.

I believe this link posted in a Steam forum thread should include the necessary mapinfo lump for zdoom-based ports:Llewellyn wrote:To get it to happen as it does in the BFG Edition, you would have to make a MAPINFO lump for Zandronum.

Many thanks for the fix! I really appreciate it! Now all I need to find is a fix for the Community Chest Maps :)
